Kim Kardashian Sex Tape Rumors Resurface As Reality Star Tries To Move On

No one is letting Kim Kardashian forget about her sex tape. New rumors are swirling that both Kris Jenner and Joe Francis are responsible for the distribution of the controversial tape that gave the former fashion stylist a household name.

Kim Kardashian’s sex tape was released by Vivid Entertainment in 2007. She then sued the company for $5 million, but the video was still distributed. Keeping Up With the Kardashians debuted in October of 2007 and the rest is pop culture history.

For years, many have assumed that momager Kris Jenner was responsible for Kim Kardashian’s infamous 2007 sex tape with then boyfriend Ray J. The intimate video catapulted the socialite into overnight success. It’s called Kim K Superstar for a reason.

It has been confirmed by ShowBiz Spy that Joe Francis is the “brains” behind Kim Kardashian’s sex tape. In an old interview with Oprah, Kim denied that she had any motive or involvement behind the sex tape’s release. She revealed that it was released without her consent, and that she’s still embarrassed by it to this day.

An alleged source revealed to the explicit celebrity gossip blog that Girl Gone Wild founder Joe Francis was the marketing brains behind the video.

“Joe was the one that told Kim to make the sex tape after she was tired of being Paris Hilton’s shadow and wanted to somehow break away from just being her little party buddy. Joe was also the one that contacted Steve directly about the video. Kris was also right there the entire time to make sure everything went smooth with the deal, but Joe was the brains behind the entire deal. Kim herself was hands off for the most part to give the video that taboo effect.”

In case you didn’t know, Francis is a long-time friend of both the Kardashian-Jenner clan and starlet Paris Hilton, who also starred in her own sex tape.

ShowBiz Spy also claims that the source gave more details on the Kardashian’s involvement with TMZ and Steve Hirsch of Vivid Entertainment, but that information will soon emerge at another time. ShowBiz Spy’s information aligns with the information published in the new book, Kardashian Dynasty, written by Ian Halperin.

The author mentioned that a former friend of Kim’s supposedly told him that Kris was also involved with the distribution of her sex tape.

“It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day,” that person revealed, according to the Page Six exclusive report.

Halperin also exposed a porn peddler who sold another sex tape to Vivid Entertainment. The unidentified person supposedly informed him, “When it comes to.?.?. selling a sex tape, both parties need to sign off.”

The source was asked how the adult entertainment company received Kim’s tape, supposedly said: “A third party brought it to Vivid … [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family.”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is well aware that her sex tape made her who she is today. But she wants to move on from her past and become something of herself. She defended both her sex tape and nude selfie in an open letter posted to her website on Tuesday, March 8.

“It always seems to come back around to my sex tape. Yes, a sex tape that was made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO. Literally that lonnng ago. And people still want to talk about it?!?!”

“I lived through the embarrassment and fear, and decided to say who cares, do better, move on. I shouldn’t have to constantly be on the defense, listing off my accomplishments just to prove that I am more than something that happened 13 years ago. Let’s move on, already. I have.”

Kim Kardashian’s rep has spoken to Page Six. He insists that “All the assertions are false.”
