WWE News: Mick Foley And Daughter Noelle Foley Get Reality Show

Wrestling legend Mick Foley and his daughter Noelle will star on Holy Foley, a 12-episode, half-hour long quirky reality show that will air on the WWE Network starting in August.

Among other aspects of the Foley family, the show will apparently chronicle Noelle’s training regimen to become a WWE Diva.

This programming news was revealed by Mick and Noelle on last night’s “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s podcast on Vince McMahon’s wrestling network as part of the hype surrounding WrestleMania 32, which will take place on Sunday, April 3, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time.

Respected for his wildly hardcore ring style, Mick Foley, who also wrestled as Dude Love, Cactus Jack and Mankind in several different promotions, is a four-time wrestling world champion and an 11-time world tag team champion.

Mick Foley has also been an outspoken critic of the recent WWE content, so it would appear that he and Vince McMahon have come to terms or an accommodation of some manner to allow this reality show to go forward.

Discussing the upcoming reality show, Noelle, a 22-year-old model, told Austin in what would appear to be an understatement, “We’re not your average family; we do things a little differently,” and confirmed that she is attempting to forge a wrestling career of her own.

In the clip below, in alluding to his many in-ring injuries, Mick expressed surprise that his daughter would want to follow in his footsteps and described the show as “reality/drama comedy.”

Keeping it all in the family, Noelle’s brother Dewey was recently hired on to the WWE writing team.

“When you’re a Hall of Famer & legend, your son works backstage, and your daughter has several jobs talking about the business, a WWE Network show is probably a no-brainer,” SB Nation observed.

As wrestling fans are well aware, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte is the reigning WWE Diva Champion and is putting her title on the line on Sunday in a triple-threat match against Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. Ric Flair is the 16-time World Heavyweight Champion whom many contend is the best professional wrestler of all time.

In a press release, WWE provided this summary about the Holy Foley reality show.

“WWE Network continues to add to its robust slate of original programming with the newly green-lit show, Holy Foley, which will offer viewers a comedic, behind-the-scenes look into the life of WWE Hall of Famer, husband and father Mick Foley and his unique relationship with his daughter Noelle…At the Foley household on suburban Long Island, Mick Foley simply sees himself as a stand-up comedian and Santa-loving dad to his family of five, including wife Colette, sons Dewey, Mickey and Hughie, and daughter Noelle, with whom he shares a picture-perfect, father-daughter relationship. However, unbeknownst to Mick, Noelle has decided she wants to follow in her father’s footsteps, and has been secretly training to join WWE. Just when Mick thought he was out of the ring, Noelle is leading the charge to pull him back in.”

Said Mick Foley about the new show about his family, “I am excited to give fans a behind-the-scenes look into the Foley family life. Holy Foley will be filled with surprises, lots of drama, and moments that will make you laugh out loud.”

On his Facebook page, Mick Foley commemorated his WWE inauguration (in what was then the WWF) 20 years ago today against another wrestling icon.

“I attacked the Undertaker during my official debut for WWE – April 1, 1996 in Stockton, CA – and nothing in my life would ever be quite the same. A pivotal moment. A career-making opponent. I thought I made a pretty good first impression…”
