The card for WrestleMania 32 is stacked from top to bottom, but there are a few matches that stand out above all others. Of course, there is the No Holds Barred Street Fight and the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but another involves ladders. Yes, the seven-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Title has Kevin Owens at an extreme disadvantage, but the rumors flying around as to who could win the belt differ greatly.
For the second straight year, the Intercontinental Title will be defended in a multi-man ladder match. Last year at WrestleMania 31, Daniel Bryan won it in a match where Bad News Barrett went into the bout as the title holder.
Only two superstars that were in last year’s match are returning for the one this year: Dolph Ziggler and Stardust. While Stardust was in storyline limbo, Ziggler actually had something going on the past month, but nothing ever came of it.
Zack Ryder shocks the world and wins the title
This one — okay, no, don’t expect this one. Ryder is in this match mostly due to the fact that Neville suffered an injury and is out for a couple of months. Sure, Ryder has worked hard and deserves a good push within WWE, but it is incredibly doubtful that he would win the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania.
It would be shocking and fun, but it’s unlikely. Woo-Woo-Woo!
Sin Cara will take a wicked and scary bump
Kalisto, Sin Cara’s former tag team partner with the Lucha Dragons, won a Slammy for the OMG Shocking Moment of the Year in 2015 as Wrestling Inc. reported. His Salida del Sol through a ladder at WWE TLC was insane, and well, that leaves Sin Cara to pull one off at WrestleMania.
Sin Cara is a leaping and bumping machine, and if he doesn’t take it, then he’ll be the one giving it to someone else.
Sami Zayn captures the Intercontinental Title
He’s been on the WWE main roster for just about a month now, and he’s already in one of the biggest matches on the WrestleMania 32 card. Can you imagine the pop he would get from the Dallas crowd if he stood high atop the ladder and pulled down the Intercontinental Title?
Zayn has worked his butt off for years on the independent scene, Ring of Honor, NXT, and in other promotions. It’s not like he doesn’t deserve it as he’s also a great wrestler and one of the most popular superstars in all of WWE and the world.
No matter what or who has the Intercontinental Title as of Sunday evening, Zayn and Owens are about to have an amazing feud.
The Intercontinental Title is won by Dolph Ziggler and his feud with The Authority continues or he turns heel
In the past few weeks, Dolph Ziggler has not really had much direction since he was going to be put into this multi-man match. Sure, he had a back-and-forth with The Miz, but he’s in the ladder match as well.
For two weeks, or more so one episode of Monday Night Raw, Ziggler was involved with The Authority and had a great TV match with Triple H. Then, that storyline quickly disappeared and one has to wonder what was the point.
Dolph Ziggler needs to be pushed with a title win and heel turn or with a title win and continued feud with The Authority as reported by CBS Sports. Let Owens and Zayn feud without a belt at stake, and have Ziggler defend the title against an opponent of The Authority’s choosing.
Kevin Owens retains and a feud with Sami Zayn officially begins
As Bleacher Report‘s predictions show, the majority of everyone’s opinions are split between Zayn winning the title and Kevin Owens retaining. It would not be surprising to see Owens retain as he’s a great champion and it would be great for Zayn to chase him for the belt in a feud that fans worldwide wants to see.
When Sunday night rolls around, there are going to be so many matches that fans want to see and that will leave them in awe. The Intercontinental Title ladder match at WrestleMania 32 is one that will likely leave them with their eyes wide and jaws dropped. Expect big spots, hard hits, and someone to have a hard-earned victory by night’s end.
