WWE News: Vince McMahon Using Shane McMahon As Leverage In Power Struggle With Triple H And Stephanie McMahon

When it comes to the future of WWE, many have thought at the beginning of this year that once Vince McMahon stepped away that the company would go to his daughter, Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H. Both have been groomed to take over for years now and both hold very important roles in the company outside of their roles on television. Stephanie is in charge of the brand that is WWE and Triple H controls all things talent related.

He is the one who hires and fires people and even does recruitment, although others help him there. The Game also controls WWE NXT and it is pretty much his baby that he is somewhat obsessed with. He’s also like a proud dad when he sees the company succeed or a star from NxT succeed on the main roster. He loves everyone that comes out of there, so he does take up for them in management meetings.

Many feel that the company would be in great hands with them and everyone was getting used to the fact that it ultimately would happen. Then, “he” returned.

Shane McMahon made his way back to WWE about a month ago and this was a shocker not only for the fans but for a lot of people within the company. While Triple H and Shane have always been fine, Triple H did downplay the return a bit as he felt Shane wasn’t all that big of a star. According to Daily Wrestling News, Triple H was adamant about not seeing Shane as a serious contender for The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

He is not off on this, as most fans feel the exact same way. That is why Shane clearly will have help to defeat The Deadman if he does end up getting the win. Although Shane McMahon has gotten into amazing shape since he left WWE years ago, so many could see him beating Undertaker alone now versus a number of years ago. However, he will not do so by himself. Despite all of this, Triple H is seemingly not happy about Shane being back.

This could be why the two have had no altercations on WWE programming, and some even suspect they have rarely even crossed paths since his comeback. This is why only Vince and Stephanie McMahon have had time with Shane on camera.

Many are under the impression Triple H doesn’t want Shane around the company at all, even as just an on-air talent. Vince McMahon clearly disagrees with his son-in-law over his only son, despite what you may see on television. There is said to be pressure on Vince nowadays to name a successor to the throne that is in control of WWE, which is possibly why there is so much tension right now. Many are not sure Triple H will be the right guy for the job, despite the good work he has done. There are times Triple H may not catch something, like a flub with the announce team that Vince is not happy to see.

Vince is also not a big fan of NXT, and Triple H seems to have issues with Shane. None of this sits well with The Chairman. It is said that Vince is using Shane as potential leverage over Triple H and Stephanie, as he does not like when people take things for granted. He doesn’t want them automatically thinking they will get control, and adding Shane into the mix is a good way to make sure they don’t do that and continue to work hard and impress. Vince reportedly doesn’t want people to just assume Triple H will be the one in charge just because he’s been around.

It was noted that Vince even told Dean Ambrose to ask if Triple H liked Shane in a promo, which Triple H was reportedly not happy about. Vince did this as a reminder, according to some. Vince was also not happy Triple H could not get The Rock in for a match at WrestleMania 32. He kept assuming Vince would be fine with a non-wrestling appearance on it’s own. On top of this, Rock had a contractual issue that didn’t allow him to wrestle. However, Vince does not like obstacles.

As far as Shane McMahon’s role in all of this, he has been around backstage with Vince at every show he has been part of. Many are under the impression that he has an itch to return to the family business full-time, and it is rumored that he and Vince has talked about it. However, nothing is concrete on that end. Shane was the guy who was set to get the reigns before he left. Now that pressure is on Vince to name someone to take over, Shane is back in the picture. Shane always wanted to be in control of WWE, but Vince didn’t want to give up power all those years ago. Shane then left to pursue other things as a result.

Triple H and Stephanie have worked hard and deserve the role according to many. However, others feel it is Shane’s birthright to be given a chance to show he can lead WWE. Truly, Vince could go either way with things, and he very well could be testing everyone just to see who fits things best. That is if Shane McMahon even wants the job anymore.
