Florida Man Accused Of Raping, Impregnating 11-Year-Old Family Member

An 18-year-old man, Juan Antonio Lopez-Juan of Jupiter, Florida, was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly raping and impregnating an 11-year-old family member, reported the Palm Beach Post.

On Monday, March 28, a young girl – whose name is being withheld because she’s a minor – went to her schools’ nurse’s office and complained of stomach pains.

When the school nurse examined the girl’s stomach, she told detectives that she felt something moving. That’s when she got the guidance counselor involved and the two began questioning the child, who told them that a “family member did things to her that made her feel yucky.”

The nurse and the guidance counselor immediately contacted the child’s parents, and she was later taken to a local hospital. An ultrasound revealed that the 11-year-old girl was 24 weeks pregnant.

After Jupiter police conducted an investigation, it was discovered that the girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by Lopez-Juan, who is a family member that had been living in the home with the child since October 2015. Sources say that when he moved to the state, he had nowhere to go; therefore, he was invited to live in the home with the underage girl and her family.

The rape victim allegedly told police officials that she was sexually assaulted the same day Lopez-Juan moved into the Florida home that she shares with her family. She added that she was afraid to report the sexual assault because he convinced her that if she reported the crime, she would also be in trouble.

The young girl reportedly kept her silence for nearly a year until she went to her school’s nurse’s office and complained of stomach pains – that’s when she decided to tell her story.

However, investigators have yet to release how the victim and the adult male are related, but he was arrested three days after police officials learned that the girl was pregnant, allegedly by the adult family member.

While in police custody, it was reported that Lopez-Juan confessed to raping the underage girl every day when she came home from school, but claims “she initiated the relationship.”

When Jupiter police interviewed the underage girl, she stated that Lopez-Juan “would lock her in the bedroom and turn the television on so that no one would hear” him as he sexually abused her.

Lopez-Juan also admitted to Jupiter police officials that on one occasion, he had sexual intercourse with the underage girl while a 6-year-old boy, who lived in the home, was in the same room. According to Mundo Local, the suspect added that the young boy didn’t “know what was going on.”

Although it was reported that the underage girl was also raped by another family member, 15, whose name is being withheld because he is a minor, Lopez-Juan admitted that the unborn child is more than likely his because of the “length of time that he was sexually battering her.”

Reports indicated that the sexual assault ended when Lopez-Juan moved out of the home in January or February of this year, after the underage girl’s family allowed him to live with them for almost a year. When he departed, another teen began raping the underage girl, but it was not immediately clear if police officials have made an arrest.

Many believe that Lopez-Juan was an illegal immigrant, and they concur with Donald Trump’s plan to ban all illegal immigrants. One commentator stated, “This is what happens when you have illegal coming off the beaches. Deport them all. Palm Beach County is turning into trash city.”

Juan Antonio Lopez-Juan is currently being held at the Palm Beach County jail, facing charges of sexual battery and incest. His bond is set at $3,000.
