‘WrestleMania 32’ Prediction: Sting Will Help Shane McMahon Defeat The Undertaker

Professional wrestling legend Sting is set to become a WWE Hall of Famer this Saturday night, as he’ll be inducted by the one and only “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Some are thinking that his induction into the Hall of Fame means that his in-ring career is over. There have even been reports that Sting will officially announce his retirement from professional wrestling during his Hall of Fame speech. But in several recent interviews, “The Icon” has suggested that his in-ring career isn’t over yet.

Sting suffered a neck injury this past fall during a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Seth Rollins. It was the revealed that the former WCW Champion was suffering from spinal stenosis, which is the same condition that ended Edge’s in-ring career.

In an exclusive interview with WWE.com shortly after his match with Rollins, Sting suggested that he may need to get his neck “taken care of,” which led many to believe that he needed surgery. But so far, “The Stinger” hasn’t undergone a neck operation, and he’s said that he feels completely normal.

In a recent interview with Crave Online, Sting not only said that the retirement talk was just a rumor that had no truth to it, he also said that he badly wants the long-awaited dream match with Undertaker to be his retirement match.

“I want that dream match with Undertaker. I’ve been outspoken about that. The whole world knows that I’ve always wanted to do that so it would be kind of cool to go out like that.”

The match with Undertaker has been the match that “The Icon” has wanted since before he even signed on the dotted-line with WWE in 2014. But, he’s been a lot more outspoken about wanting the match since he officially became part of the company.

Apparently Vince McMahon isn’t a fan of putting Undertaker and Sting in the ring with each other because they’re both in their 50’s. But, like with anything else, his mind can be changed.

Undertaker vs. Sting is a match that the fans have wanted for quite some time now, and you can bet that the WWE chairman is well-aware of that. On top of that, there’s a rumor going around that WWE is planning a major surprise for the Hell in a Cell match. Could that end up being Sting? Well, it would make sense.

Shane McMahon is trying to take The Authority out of power, and if he defeats Undertaker, he’ll do just that. But he’s not the first person who has tried to do so, as the purpose of Sting’s WWE debut back in November of 2014 was to take Triple H and Stephanie McMahon out of power. Of course, they were put back into power just a couple of weeks later.

Now, there’s a second chance for Sting to do so, and there’s also an opportunity to build to Sting vs. Undertaker coming out of this Sunday’s main-event if “The Icon” gets involved.

There is a stipulation that, if Undertaker loses, he’ll never be able to compete at WrestleMania ever again, and Undertaker vs. Sting is certainly a match that’s too big for any other event. But, you can look at that stipulation one of two ways — one of them is that WWE rarely honors their stipulations, especially when they have to do with someone never being able to do a particular thing again, and the other one is, Shane McMahon, who will be put into power, can overturn that stipulation, and make the Sting vs. Undertaker match for WrestleMania 33 next year.

In the unlikely event that WWE actually honors that stipulation, well then there’s nothing wrong with Undertaker vs. Sting being the main-event of this year’s SummerSlam.

The word is that we should have a pretty good idea who the big WrestleMania surprise will end up being on Saturday night, so Sting could end up teasing that he’ll have some role during the Hell in a Cell match during his WWE Hall of Fame speech.
