Erika Girardi’s Husband Sued Over Swindling Clients: Being Sued For $130 Million?

Erika Girardi hasn’t really talked too much about her husband’s career on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which makes sense; the show isn’t about him. Instead, the show is about Erika’s life in the fabulous life in Beverly Hills. Tom Girardi has appeared on the show a few times, but Erika has often explained that her husband is very busy and he’s often working when she’s filming.

According to a new Daily Mail report, Erika Girardi‘s husband is currently facing some legal troubles. Apparently, Thomas Girardi, 76, along with fellow lawyer Robert Finnerty and the law firm Girardi-Keese are being sued for defrauding clients. The report claims that he defrauded clients out of millions of dollars that he won in a class action lawsuit. The court documents claim Girardi used the $130 million he won for them on an escrow payment, his divorce attorney and his partners. That doesn’t sound like a small amount of money.

The man suing Tom is named Paul Kranich, and he filed the lawsuit in California to get Girardi to pay up the money Kranich claims he illegally stole. One can imagine that Tom did his due diligence before spending the money to make sure that he was, indeed, entitled to the money. Erika Girardi hasn’t said anything about this lawsuit on social media, and one can imagine she won’t since this is her husband’s work.

Apparently, Girardi is being sued over a settlement that was reached in a case that lasted for nine years, between 1992 and 2001. The win totaled $130 million for the plaintiffs. Kranich explains the plaintiffs in that case have had several legal issues with Girardi and his firm since the settlements were reached, and it sounds like he claims he never saw the money. Instead, he claims that Girardi spent the money himself and broke down what he may have spent it on: “$250,000 to an aviation company owned by Girardi, $100,000 to a man believed to be Girardi’s divorce attorney — he has two ex wives, $350,000 to Western Bank for ‘fees’, $50 to an associate at the firm who never worked on the Lockheed case, $1 million to ‘Global Client Payments’ and allegedly more than $827,000 to ‘Lockheed Litigation’ plaintiffs — and even a $500,000 payment on a real estate escrow in which Giradi was involved and was unrelated to the Lockheed litigation.”

It’s no secret that Erika Girardi’s husband is very successful in his law business and he has been working for 50 years in the industry. Erika has been keeping silence on her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills blog. The last thing she shared was her thoughts on Yolanda Foster’s lyme disease gala.

“She has been incredibly brave in her fight against Lyme disease and has generated immense awareness and compassion through it all. Just look at Kyle’s reaction at the dinner table. The Lyme journey is very eye opening. It was very special to be at this event and to honor all of these courageous individuals who have done so much to raise awareness and bring hope,” Erika revealed about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episode, according to Bravo, adding, “For anyone that ever doubted Yolanda or any other individual suffering from Lyme disease … I hope this speaks to you and opens your heart.”

It is very possible that Erika is by her husband’s side as he deals with this lawsuit. One can imagine that it has rocked their world, as it is tough to be accused of something that may not even be true. No word on how he plans on responding to this lawsuit.
