WWE News: Shane McMahon Says He’s ‘Excited And Nervous’ About Facing Undertaker At ‘WrestleMania 32’

WWE’s biggest event of the year, WrestleMania, takes place this Sunday night at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. It’s expected that WWE will announce that there are a little over 100,000 people in attendance, which would make it the biggest wrestling show in history.

Arguably the most anticipated match on the show is Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell. If Shane McMahon wins, not only does he get control of WWE, but Undertaker will never be allowed to wrestle on WWE’s grandest stage ever again, which has a lot of people thinking that this Sunday may be “The Deadman’s” final match.

Shane McMahon shocked everybody when he returned to WWE last month, because no one was expecting his return at that moment. Also, nobody was expecting that he’d end up facing Undertaker at WrestleMania, as Shane was never one of “The Phenom’s” rumored opponents leading up to the event.

We got a preview of what the match will be like on this past Monday’s RAW, as Undertaker and Shane ended up brawling on the show, and the brawl ended with Shane O’Mac hitting his famous “Leap of Faith” elbow drop onto “The Deadman,” who was laying on the announcer’s table. You can check that out below.

On Monday, following RAW, former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman, who’s now an anchor for ESPN, interviewed Shane McMahon, and he asked him about his thoughts heading into his big showdown with The Undertaker on Sunday night.

“Anything can happen (at WrestleMania). I’m really excited to be in there. I’m nervous to be in there. I mean, it’s a whole different atmosphere. When you’re against a guy that big, and I have so much respect for The Undertaker, he’s the measuring stick for the business. But when you’re in there it’s intimidating. So you just gotta let it rip, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.”

Coachman also asked Shane about his three sons, and what he thinks it will be like for them to see their dad wrestle in front of 100,000 people, and Shane responded by pretty much saying that he came back because he wanted his kids to see him wrestle, because having them be a part of something as big as this match with The Undertaker will be the greatest gift that he could ever give them.

“(My sons) are the main reason (why I’m back). It’s extremely emotional for me. It’s not often that you get to see your dad like a real-life superhero. To perform at WrestleMania in front of 100,000 people, I mean, that experience for my sons, who are 12, 10, and 6, there’s no possible bigger gift that I could ever possibly give them.”

Nobody really knows what’s going to happen in the Undertaker vs. Shane match, and as of right now, the odds-makers don’t really know what’s going to happen either, as Undertaker is a slight favorite over Shane McMahon in the match. But, that all could change this weekend as we get closer to showtime.

One thing is for sure, the fans will end up being disappointed, no matter who ends up winning. As previously noted, if Undertaker loses, that could mean that this is his final match in WWE. But, if Shane loses, we’ll be stuck with the same on-screen authority figures that we’ve had for several years now, and everything will stay exactly the same after WrestleMania concludes.

There’s a theory going around that Vince McMahon will actually help Shane McMahon defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and then both Shane and Vince will be the on-screen authority figures for the foreseeable future coming out of the event. While that doesn’t seem likely, stranger things have happened.
