Ariana Grande ‘So Down’ For Joining Taylor Swift’s Squad, Denies Bad Blood Rumors

Ariana Grande wants in! Taylor Swift’s newest squad applicant is none other than the 22-year-old songstress.

Ariana was chatting to Capital FM DJ Roman Kent when she admitted she would love to join forces with Taylor Swift, 26, and her rich and famous girlfriends, as reported in Cosmo. By doing so, she also completely denied the rumors that there is any bad blood between the two bright stars.

“Oh wow,” Ariana said. “That would be so crazy. Do you have to do anything weird to get in? I don’t know the details. All those girls are really nice. I would be so down.”

That makes a change from the recent rejections Swift has received from other stars, including Chloe Grace Moretz. The young actress was criticizing the “squad” mentality and said members “appropriate exclusivity,” which we previously reported on in TheInquisitr. This may be true, but Ariana Grande wants in!

In that sense, Moretz was joining Miley Cyrus who had also spoken out against the concept of having famous friends and said she found inspiration in normal people with real lives. Those don’t seem to be big deals for Ariana Grande, who is dying to join gal pals Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez in the shiny club.

Other celebrities have spoken out against Swift’s squad, including Rowan Blanchard, who expressed herself far more eloquently on the topic in an interview with JustJaredJr. Blanchard explained that although female friendship and sisterhood are very valuable and valid concepts, “the ‘squads’ we see in the media are very polarizing. Feminism and friendship are supposed to be inclusive, and most of these ‘squads’ are strictly exclusive.”

But Ariana Grande is young, and who could blame her – the squad does look like a lot of fun! She and Swift may not be the closest of girlfriends yet, but they have met, performed together, and exchanged lovely messages on social media – which as everyone knows, is the basis of any strong friendship.

Grande performed with Swift along with Ed Sheeran and many of Taylor’s girlfriends at the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which looked like great fun and could boost Ariana’s cred to join the squad.

Taylor also posted this picture of her and Ariana hugging back in 2015, captioning the photo “OMG she couldn’t be cuter.”

They’ve also been exchanging on Twitter, with Taylor saying she was “so proud” of Ariana, who then replied with a string of hearts. It’s meant to be, we’re telling you!

Ariana’s goal to become part of the crew, although it may not be every girl’s aspiration, isn’t surprising. Taylor has grown, and her fame extended past the post-Harry Styles songwriting which built her success. Today, she is recognized beyond the singing world by other stars who sing her praises.

Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram after Taylor’s awesome Grammys speech, as reported by Popsugar, as did Jaime King, boyfriend Calvin Harris, and squad member Serayah.

So what will it take for Ariana to get in? Are her popularity credits high enough, and what does she bring the so-called exclusive squad?

And what will Taylor have to say about all this? Let us know what you think below!
