Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Shares First Look At Entire ‘Baywatch’ Squad

The entire cast for the upcoming film reboot of the popular TV series Baywatch is looking great.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has been generous in indulging his followers with teasers and juicy details about the upcoming Baywatch reboot via his social media accounts, indulged followers once again on Monday, this time sharing a photo of the film’s entire cast, Complex reports.

The Instagram photo showed The Rock, Zac Efron, Jon Bass, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera?, and Kelly Rohrbach doing poses and, as Dwayne himself suggested in the caption, just having fun. And those who are familiar with the TV series version should feel some nostalgia at seeing those iconic blue and red swimwear ensemble again.

Johnson himself is looking spry as ever, and we can expect no less from someone who has made a name for himself as “the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.”

If there’s one thing lacking in the Instagram photo The Rock just shared, it’s David Hasselhoff, the actor who played the original Mitch Buchannon in the TV version of Baywatch.

Just last week, Dwayne confirmed via his Instagram account that Hasselhoff will play a role in the upcoming Baywatch reboot. And The Rock did it with such bravura worthy of his legacy in the WWE ring. During his announcement, Dwayne showed followers his smartphone, revealing his FaceTime session with Hasselhoff.

There’s no official word yet on what role David Hasselhoff will be playing in the Baywatch reboot, but given the enthusiasm he showed during The Rock’s announcement, it’s highly likely we’ll get to see glimpses of what made the original Mitch Buchannon such an endearing character in the Baywatch TV series for a decade.

Zac Efron, who just came off another successful stint playing Teddy Sanders in Neighbors 2, also stoked the general public’s enthusiasm for the film. Zac is set to play the role of Matt Brody alongside The Rock’s Mitch Buchannon.

Directed by Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon, the Baywatch film will have less restrictions compared to the iconic ’90s TV series. As The Rock himself announced via Twitter last August, the movie version will be “big, fun and RATED R.”

All the casting news, the teaser images, and plot details seem to deliver the promise that the Baywatch movie will be a crowd pleaser. But with David Hasselhoff getting cast for the film, why not have his famous partner of the bay Pamela Anderson go along for the ride too? According to ET Canada, Pamela Anderson was invited to appear in the film but has turned it down. Pamela did say that she hasn’t “turned it down completely yet,” so don’t lose hope yet about the possibility of seeing CJ Parker again, even just for a cameo.

Baywatch is set for cinematic release on May 19, 2016.
