Jessica Simpson Bids Farewell To Alcohol Consumption

Jessica Simpson is a new mother, and she’s trying to do right by her new baby, Maxwell Drew Johnson. In order to ensure that nothing stands between this mom and the health of her baby, the “Dukes of Hazzard” star has decided to give up a substance most people would have a very hard time casting aside: alcohol.

According to US Weekly, Simpson, who is very much a fan of margaritas, has decided to say goodbye to alcoholic beverages. Since she’s currently breastfeeding her new little bundle of joy, ditching this kind of drink is extremely important to the child’s overall health, as alcohol tends to transfer into human milk.

To officially mark the occasion, Simpsons took to the popular micro-blogging site Twitter to announce her decision to her millions of fans. “Responsibility has drastically changed my life! Saturday night drink of choice…. WATER!” Good for her.

However, the new child might not be the only reason Simpson has decided to say goodbye to alcoholic drinks. As anyone with a beer belly will tell you, consuming these beverages can ultimately take a toll on your waistline. Since Jessica currently has until the end of August to dump 70 pounds of baby weight in accordance with her Weight Watcher deal, dropping margaritas from her diet might be a necessity.

“[Weight Watchers] focuses on healthy habits for the long-term (and I can still indulge in my guilty pleasures every now and then, too),” Simpson explained on Facebook. “I have actually gotten a group of friends together who are going to be doing it with me.”

An insider recently spoke to OK Magazine, stating that Simpson has been extremely dedicated to shedding her baby weight. However, like most human beings with an insatiable sweet tooth, the actress still gets to indulge once a week.

“Jessica has been sticking to her programme like a pro,” the source explained. “She’s doing the Weight Watchers points programme and she’s got a notebook that she uses to write down everything she eats.”
