Kesha Slams Body Shamers In Bikini Photo Instagram Post

Kesha won’t up with body shamers anymore.

On Monday, Kesha posted on Instagram a black and white photo of herself wearing a black bikini while having some time for relaxation in Palm Springs, California, the Huffington Post reports.

While the photo does show that she’s having a blast at the resort, Kesha also had some score to settle as she took the opportunity to bash body shamers online. Her caption in the Instagram photo went, “not a slave to perfection right now. f**k it. ***body shamers please f**k off ain’t nobody got time for it. @lhorizonpalmsprings in my skivvies”

Kesha is currently in an ongoing legal battle with producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, who she says sexually and verbally abused her a decade ago. In response to Kesha’s accusations, Dr. Luke counter-sued the 29-year-old performer for breach of contract and defamation.

Kesha requested a preliminary injunction that would allow her to record new music without working with the producer, but New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich denied the request in February.

“The Court repeatedly stated Kesha was already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims. That’s because all the evidence—including Kesha’s own sworn testimony—show her allegations are false. Her attorneys can continue manufacturing even more false and outrageous claims, but the fact remains that her time would be better spent in a studio than wasting time having her lawyer and mother spin lies in the media,” Dr. Luke’s legal team told E! News.

After her push for a preliminary injunction was denied, Kesha received a massive outpouring of support from the general public, not to mention from fellow popstars such as Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande.

Kesha and Dr. Luke are set to appear in court on May 16, but in the meantime, the “Tik Tok” singer had some time to kill enjoying herself at the L’Horizon Resort in Palm Springs over the weekend. Judging by an earlier Instagram photo posted yesterday, Kesha seems to be having a blast.

“Had THE most relaxing weekend with my friends at @lhorizonpalmsprings I like. slept longer than I have in 20 years. and then got sunburned seriously a magical oasis hideaway,” said Kesha on Instagram.

Looking at her now, Kesha won’t likely be a target for body shaming. But that wasn’t always the case in the past, back when she became a constant target of insults on account of her body. To make matters worse, Dr. Luke himself was often the main culprit, even going so far as comparing her to a refrigerator as well as forcing her to sing the lyric “some fat bitches in the bar” during a video shoot.

Kesha did admit that her eating disorder caused her alarm about the state of her health, which led her to undergo a rehabilitation program back in March 2014.

“There was a lot of not eating – and I started to think being hungry to the point of feeling almost faint was a positive thing,” she told Vogue. “The worse it got, the more positive feedback I was getting. Inside I was really unhappy, but outside, people were like, ‘Wow, you look great.'”

Kesha said in the interview that, after completing the program, she had a renewed sense of commitment to stay healthy and to learn to accept herself for what she really is.

“I’m trying to embrace the skin I’m in,” Kesha added. “It’s difficult sometimes. Every day I have to look in the mirror and make the choice to be kind to myself. This is who I am – I have to love that.”
