Mark Ballas Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Injured, May Not Dance Tonight

Dancing with the Stars is just in Week 2, and now word is out that Mark Ballas is already injured. Mark is partnered up with Paige VanZant this season on the show, and they did a great job in Week 1. Now People is sharing that a source revealed Mark Ballas is actually injured, and this could keep him off the dance floor tonight.

At this time, Mark and Paige are staying quiet, but a source revealed what is going on. Here is what they had to say about Mark’s injury.

“He injured his back at camera blocking rehearsal on Sunday. It’s an old injury that he aggravated. It’s up in the air if he’ll be able to perform tonight.”

Of course, Mark Ballas is going to try to dance if there is any way that he can make it work. Later today, a doctor will look at Mark Ballas and decide if he can dance tonight or not. Mark is not rehearsing at all right now, but, of course, you know he is in there watching and making sure that Paige gets the dance perfect.

The source revealed that Alan Bersten is practicing with Paige and could dance with her tonight if Mark can’t get back out on the dance floor. He is a member of the DWTS dance troupe and was on the show So You Think You Can Dance. Obviously, Alan knows what he is doing, but Paige is used to practicing with Mark, so this is all new to her. At least, she has had a chance to practice some with Alan, and maybe they are learning to do this dance together great. It would be harder later in the season.

If you are curious if there could be love brewing between single Paige and Mark, that is not the case. Mark Ballas is actually engaged. People shared back in January that Mark popped the question to girlfriend and bandmate BC Jean (Brittney Jean Carlson). They already live together, and Mark lined the driveway with roses and violets. This was because their band has a song called “Roses and Violets,” and Mark did it even though it was hard because they were out of season.

Mark popped the question the day before Thanksgiving, and she said “yes.” Mark had her go over there to help out with construction on their home, but, of course, that wasn’t the truth. Here is what Mark said about the big engagement.

“Our manager for our group called and said, ‘Look, there’s been a bit of a thing at the house, you need to go confirm something. Mark can’t get over there.’ She said, ‘Yeah, no problem.’ When she got in there I froze…. My heart was pounding. I was cool as a cucumber all day. I’ve been on stages my whole life, and when she walked in the room I was thought, ‘Whoa, here we go.’ So we kind of just held each other for a minute, and then I did the [one-knee] drop, I popped the question, she said yes. Everything went to plan and the way the house was decorated – it was just absolutely incredible.”

Are you shocked to hear that Mark Ballas might not get to dance tonight on the show? Do you think that this could hurt Page dancing with a new partner and not Mark? Sound off in the comments below, and don’t miss new episodes of Dancing with the Stars on Mondays on ABC.
