Miley Cyrus Spotted At Knicks Game Wearing Engagement Ring
Miley Cyrus was spotted at a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, and photographers quickly noticed that she was wearing a very familiar piece of jewelry on that finger.
Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split in 2013, but the singer has been rumored for a while now to be back with him following a public reunion on New Year’s Eve. However, neither of them have confirmed the relationship. The ring, many have speculated, looks exactly like the one Miley wore when she was engaged to Hemsworth. According to Us Weekly, Miley has been spending a lot of time with Liam at his home in Malibu, doing the domestic thing and “cooking and cleaning for Liam, waiting on him hand and foot. She wants to make sure she keeps him,” a source told the magazine.
While it may seem sudden, the couple have reportedly been back together for a while now but were taking great pains to keep their relationship out of the spotlight and away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi, in part because Liam was never comfortable with their private life being so scrutinized. During the time that Miley spent with Liam’s family in Australia over the holidays, she really got close with them, and they enjoyed the visit so much that any doubts they may have had about a wedding were dashed.
Miley was caught on camera at the game and found herself on a giant screen, shielding her face in embarrassment. She didn’t, however, use her left hand to cover her eyes.
Cyrus enjoyed the game with her mom and sister and posed for several pictures with them after the game.
Around the time Miley and Liam split, she started showing off her eclectic personality on social media and in her music videos. She also appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards in a highly-criticized performance with Robin Thicke that had people talking for months afterward. While Miley was praised by some for her free-spirited ways (and willingness to show off her body unashamedly), others thought she’d gone a bit wild following her breakup from Liam, and for good reason: Liam reportedly didn’t like her wild side.
“She either doesn’t answer their calls or says she’s not going out. Liam never liked that she got crazy, so Miley’s making big changes. She doesn’t want to screw it up,” the source told Us Weekly.
Now, another source says that Cyrus is ready to move on from all that and show Liam that she’s changed.
“They know what they have is real. Miley needed some time to grow up, but she feels ready for this now.”
The couple reportedly remained friends after their split, however, and according to E! News, Miley never quite got over Liam.
“Miley came back to LA after spending the holidays with Liam. She had the time of her life being with him and his family. She feels like they could pick up right where they left off. Miley has never gotten over Liam and always hoped they would get back together. She doesn’t know where it will go, but she definitely still loves him,” a source said.
Miley recently showcased her acting skills on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon when he asked her to participate in a game with him in which they had to switch to different emotions during one conversation. The result was hilarious and kept the audience endlessly entertained as the duo went from “super defensive” to giving one-word answers.
Miley Cyrus is set to join The Voice as a coach for the new season, along with crooner Alicia Keys.
