Three Stabbed At El Paso Bar, Gang Link Possible

Three people were stabbed in the parking lot of an East El Paso, Texas bar early Saturday morning. Earlier in the night, two men had reportedly been kicked out of the Liquor Dick’s Bar. At around 3 a.m. the two men returned to the bar’s parking lot and approached three men. While in the parking lot, one of the two suspects pulled a knife and an altercation broke out. One of the suspects began stabbing the three victims who have not yet been identified. Police have released the ages of the three victims who were 23, 29 and 47 years old.

Witnesses of the stabbing called police, and the two suspects got into a vehicle and started to leave. In the process, they ran over the 29-year-old victim.

While El Paso police officers from the Pebble Hills Regional Command were responding to the scene, the suspects managed to flee the scene. The three victims were transported to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Police were unable to determine who the suspects were, and are asking for witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident to contact them. There is a suspected gang connection to the suspects, and the gang unit of the El Paso Police Department will be handling further investigation. No arrests had been made at the time information of the stabbing was released to the public. A phone number was released for witnesses to contact police. Anyone with information is urged to call 915-832-4400.

All three of the stabbing victims received injuries that were later identified by hospital staff as non-life-threatening. Owners and management of The Liquor Dick’s Bar have not been available for comment.

There is still no word if the suspects were regular patrons of the bar, and suspicions remain that gang activity was involved. Social media users from the area are voicing concern for a friend who was injured in the stabbing and stated he was to undergo surgery on March 28. Frequent visitors claim a close-knit group of patrons and state that problems in the area are rare.
