WWE News: John Cena Scheduled To Appear At ‘WrestleMania 32’

It’s been reported recently that former fifteen-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will be out of in-ring action until July, due to a shoulder injury he suffered toward the end of last year. But, that doesn’t mean that he’ll be missing next Sunday’s WrestleMania 32, as Cageside Seatsis reporting that the former WWE Champ will be appearing on the show.

WWE hasn’t officially announced that Cena will be appearing at WrestleMania 32, and if they don’t announce it sometime next week, then that’ll suggest that Cena will be making a surprise appearance on the show.

There have been some who have suggested that Cena will interfere in the Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker Hell in a Cell match and cause The Phenom to lose because he wants to see The Authority put out of power. Then, if Cena is going to return at some point this summer, he and “The Deadman” can begin a feud that builds to a one-on-one match between the two at August’s SummerSlam show in Brooklyn, New York.

Cena and Undertaker were originally scheduled to wrestle at WrestleMania 32, so there’s a good possibility that the former US Champ gets involved in the Hell in a Cell match, and gives WWE a good reason to do Undertaker vs. Cena at a later date.

Other than Shane vs. Undertaker, there’s really no other obvious match for Cena to get involved in on the show. Of course, there’s a chance that he could just end up doing a talking segment at the top of the show instead of interfering in any of the matches. But if he’s capable of doing something physical, then he may end up getting involved in one of the matches, even if it’s just to give someone an Attitude Adjustment.

Some are still expecting that John Cena will end up wrestling on the show, but several weeks ago, at the WrestleMania 33 press-conference, Cena made it clear that, for the first time in his career, he’ll only be watching the show.

“For the first time in a decade and a half, this year I will be watching and not wrestling at WrestleMania.”

The severity of John Cena’s shoulder injury called for a nine-month layoff before a return to in-ring action. Most expected that he’d be able to return to action sooner than that because, in the past, he’s returned a lot sooner than expected from some pretty significant injuries. But this time it looks like that won’t be the case.

There are rumors going around that The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods) will have a fourth partner in their match with the League of Nations (Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Rusev, Wade Barrett), but that partner won’t be announced ahead of time, which means someone will be making a surprise return at WrestleMania 32 if WWE is planning on making that match a four-on-four contest.

One of the rumored fourth partners for The New Day is The Rock, who will be at WrestleMania 32. But, that doesn’t seem likely because, if The Rock was going to be wrestling on the show, you would think that WWE would advertise that well in advance.

John Cena, however, could make a surprise return and be The New Day’s fourth partner, as he was last seen feuding with the League of Nations before he went down with the aforementioned shoulder injury. As previously mentioned, Cena isn’t expected to return to the ring until July, and he did say that he won’t be wrestling at AT&T Stadium. But, you never know, WWE could just be building up to John Cena’s surprise return at the biggest WrestleMania of all-time.
