Celine Dion Says Her Children Are Her Legacy

Celine Dion suffered two personal losses in a short span of time when both her husband and her brother lost their respective battles with cancer. Celine Dion and her husband, René Angelil, were considered one of the most romantic couples in the music industry, and their romance was one of the most well-documented fairy tales in the business. They respected each other, they shared the same dream, and they had the same goal: to bring Celine’s musical gifts to the world.

René was Celine’s hero who championed and motivated her to carry on with her music career despite him suffering from cancer and heart problems. Celine had put her singing career on hold so she could focus on caring for René. Additionally, she had also cancelled her foreign tours and concerts. Losing a loved one is an emotionally devastating event that requires the bereaved to gather strength to moving ahead, and Celine Dion knew that she had a choice about how she would face the challenge of the recent emotionally turbulent times. She believed in herself, and she wanted to show her children how to be strong and deal with the tragedies that you face in life. Ultimately, the show had to go on.

Celine Dion remained poised and elegant as she made her triumphant comeback and performed her Las Vegas residency show for the first time since the death of René. She appreciated that her career was René’s masterpiece, and he wouldn’t have liked the idea of leaving it unfinished. It must have been the most emotional performance of her career, and Celine made sure everyone had a chance to mourn and honor him.

The show wouldn’t have been successful without the support of her fans from all walks of life. She thanked her fans for giving her the energy and the support that she required to carry on. The Siver Times reported that some of her songs like “Because You Loved Me” brought her fans to tears. Additionally, Hollywood Life reported that her performance even moved celebrity fans like Selena Gomez, who had donned a T-shirt bearing the image of her favorite diva. Gomez had the privilege of meeting Celine after the show.

This goes to show that Celine Dion speaks to all generations. Celine shares a special relationship with her fans to whom she had apologized earlier when her shows were cancelled due to her personal struggles. Recently, Billboard reported that Celine became a fan of Ariana Grande who, apart from being a phenomenal singer, is known for her excellent range of celebrity impressions. The artist first mimicked Celine during an appearance on The Tonight Show, when she sang The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” while pretending to be Celine.

Celine Dion took the impression in the fun spirit in which it was intended by appreciating Ariana’s talent. In fact, Celine later revealed to Ariana that she thought the impression was so funny that she “peed herself!”

Since her return to Las Vegas, Celine Dion has shown incredible courage. She claims that she does not want to be remembered for her albums, the money, the awards, and the number of records she has sold. Instead, she says that her three beautiful children are her greatest assets. And she will continue to play her part on the Las Vegas stage because she loves it and because it’s what she knows her late husband would have wanted.
