Body Of Shaylyn Ammerman Reportedly Found
The body of missing baby Shaylyn Ammerman has been located, according to Fox News 59 — and a suspect has already been arrested in association with her disappearance and death. The 14-month-old infant was missing for nearly 48 hours before the tragic discovery of her body. This brings a heartbreaking end to the search, but the wheels of justice have already begun to turn.
Authorities have arrested 22-year-old Kyle Parker in association with the disappearance and death of 14-month-old Shaylyn Ammerman. The Seattle Times reports that the body of the missing infant was located near the White River, northeast of Gosport. Other sources have claimed that her body was found in a wooded area, but other details surrounding the discovery of her body have not yet been made public.

Authorities also haven’t made any statements on what evidence led to the discovery of Shaylyn’s body. They have also not revealed any evidence that led them to the arrest of 22-year-old Kyle Parker. What has been confirmed, however, is that Parker had been invited into the home the night Shaylyn went missing. Authorities have not clarified whether or not he’s a family member or a known friend of the child’s family.

On social media, people are offering condolences by the hundreds. Other folks on Facebook and Twitter are expressing outrage that a 14-month-old infant was possibly killed while under the care of her own loved ones. It should be noted, however, that this case has not yet been declared a homicide. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine what may have happened to Shaylyn Ammerman.

This case has also drawn comparisons to the disappearance of another young girl. Ayla Reynolds vanished from the Maine residence of her father and grandmother on December 17, 2011. The child has still not been found to this day, but the circumstances surrounding her disappearance attracted the attention of people from all over the world.

Unlike the disappearance and death of Shaylyn Ammerman, no arrests have ever been made in Ayla’s disappearance. However, public suspicion has long been directed toward the child’s father, who was in the home the night she was supposedly snatched from her crib.

It’s absolutely tragic that the search for Shaylyn Ammerman ended in the discovery of the infant’s dead body. However, it’s fortunate that authorities have already made an arrest in association with her case. If more people are involved, then more arrests could come. However, authorities in Indiana have not confirmed or denied whether or not anyone else may have been involved in this child’s death. Nonetheless, they’ve noted that this case is “nowhere near over,” despite the arrest of a single suspect at this time.
