Fans can watch the Brazil vs. Uruguay football match live online and see which team can move one step closer to qualification for the 2018 World Cup.
The teams will meet Friday at 8:45 p.m. ET From Arena Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil. The match will be available to watch live online, and links to streaming video can be found below.
The match features two teams near the top of Group A of the World Cup qualification table. Ecuador is atop the group with 12 points, and Uruguay and Brazil are close behind with nine and seven points, respectively.
There is a bit of added drama to the match, with Luis Suarez returning from his ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
As The Guardian noted, Friday’s match will bring an end to a long and strange chapter.
“There has been almost nothing about Suárez’s absence from international football that has not been absurd. His offence was absurd: a man biting another man in front of a live audience of 40,000 while millions of others watched on television. His sentence was absurd – nine competitive international games, amounting to 21 months, when you could break someone’s leg with a callous tackle and get away with a week’s suspension.”
Suarez said he is ready to put the incident behind him, saying he is “being more intelligent about a lot of things, trying to take advantage of the situations life is putting in front of me” and “working over the last few weeks on trying to control my anxiety, my nerves.”
Suarez is even bringing a bit of fun into the game, making a bet with Barcelona teammate and friend Neymar.
“I have a bet with Neymar,” Suarez said, via Fox Sports. “The winner gets a burger. He is a great team-mate and we always make jokes at Barcelona. But whoever will win this game will be enjoying himself and he who loses will be hearing it from the other.”

Fans who watch the Brazil vs. Uruguay football match live online will see a Uruguay team ready to put the distractions behind them and focus on holding their spot over Brazil on the CONMEBOL table.
Brazil will have a difficult match, facing a Uruguay team that brought two impressive wins in its last two home games, including a 3-0 victory over Colombia. But this match is being played in Brazil, where the host team have never lost a World Cup qualifier and where Uruguay’s only win was in the 1950 World Cup.

Brazil also has a boost in the form of a fully healthy Neymar, who has been deemed fit to play despite having to be hospitalized in Teresopolis for muscle soreness. The nation’s football federation announced that he will be fully healthy for Friday and in the lineup.
“Neymar had some muscle soreness and told the Selecao doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, who brought him to the medical centre in Teresopolis. With the assistance of Rodrigo Lasmar, Neymar underwent some tests that have not shown any injury. The attacker can continue to train normally on Wednesday and Thursday and will be fit on Friday against Uruguay,” the federation statement said.
