Ben Affleck Speaks About Putting Kids First, Jennifer Garner Shares How Kids Hate Paparazzi

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner seem to finally be in a place that they can move forward as a former couple and co-parent their three children contently since they announced their split and endured some tumultuous times, including a nanny scandal.

Affleck recently joined the hosts of Good Morning America where he chatted about his latest film Batman v Superman: The Dawn Of Justice and also got into discussing some of his personal and private issues including his separation from Jennifer Garner.

Affleck has been open about the fact that the kids come first and that he and Jen are just taking their own relationship day by day.

“We sort of put the kids first. We just take it one step at a time and do our best.”

Ben was also sure to sing Jen’s praises while chatting about her latest hit movie, Miracles From Heaven, which has seen great success at the box office thus far.

“She works very hard, and she’s great with the kids and like I say, we put them first.”

Ben’s superhero flick in which he stars as Batman is to hit theaters this weekend and is the first of a number of Warner Bros. DC Comic films. As it stands, the movie is receiving mixed reviews, yet Affleck is garnering praise for his individual portrayal of the mysterious superhero. Ben follows the likes of Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney in the role of Batman and shares that he was “grateful” for getting the chance to play the Dark Knight this time around.

Affleck has also shared that playing Batman scored him big brownie points from his 4-year-old son Samuel who is reportedly obsessed with the crusader. For his 4th birthday, Ben convinced the studio to lend out the costume for the superhero so that he could dress up in the ensemble for his son’s party.

The Daily Mail shares the star’s words about the event.

“The studio brought some of the costumers over and they brought the suit over and I put it on and I wrestled about with the other superheroes and tried not to tear anything. I got a little self conscious when I realized there were grown ups there too,’ he added. But it was fun. It was great to see the look on his face. That made everything worthwhile.”

Although the situation surrounding Jen and Ben has calmed somewhat, the media frenzy around the stars and their family continues. Garner recently shared while on The Dr. Oz Show about the constant harassment by the paparazzi since the two announced their split and which of her children are the most affected by the media circus. Marie Claire shares Jen’s words.

“Of all my kids, [Samuel] hates them the most. He hates them. [He says] ‘I don’t like that. There are two things I don’t like, Mom. I don’t like cameras, I don’t like men with cameras and I don’t like being laughed at. I don’t like if I feel like you’re laughing at me.'”

Garner then shared with the talk show physician about how she reasons with her son to make him feel less worried and uncomfortable.

“I say, ‘I can control not laughing at you’—although he is so funny—’But we have to talk about the fact they can’t hurt you. They can’t touch you. They’re far away. We can’t make them go away. We just have to live our lives, son, and do the best we can.”

It seems that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are doing all they can to keep their family in tact and to remain amicable toward one another. In separate interviews each of the stars have shared their praise for one another, despite the split.
