Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi has stood by Yolanda Foster since the day she joined the show. Erika and Yolanda have been friends for a while, and she has never questioned her Real Housewives co-star’s illness. Many of the other ladies could all agree that Yolanda was sick with something, but not everyone agreed that it was Lyme disease. This has caused quite the spectacle on this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but this week’s episode showed Yolanda in a new light.
According to a new Bravo report, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi is now asking people to look at Foster’s illness once more after watching the lime gala that some of the ladies attended in New York. Foster was being honored as a person who wanted to spread awareness about the disease to possibly find a cure.
“Sharing your brave journey has generated world wide compassion,” Yolanda said at the gala, with her Real Housewives co-star adding, “This statement inscribed on Yolanda’s award from the Global Lyme Alliance gala could not be more perfect. She has been incredibly brave in her fight against Lyme disease and has generated immense awareness and compassion through it all. Just look at Kyle’s reaction at the dinner table. The Lyme journey is very eye opening.”
Kyle Richards broke down in tears after hearing both Yolanda and her daughter Gigi Hadid talk about Foster’s Lyme disease struggles. Richards had questioned her illness at some point, sharing that she wasn’t really sure about what Foster was dealing with. This was something Kyle talked about in the press and on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Erika thought the night was beautiful, and she was in full support of her friend.
“It was very special to be at this event and to honor all of these courageous individuals who have done so much to raise awareness and bring hope. For anyone that ever doubted Yolanda or any other individual suffering from Lyme disease… I hope this speaks to you and opens your heart,” Erika reveals about her Real Housewives co-star, who didn’t go to Dubai with the ladies.
But even though she wasn’t there, she was still the topic of discussion.
“I’m very excited to be in Dubai! After a long journey across the world, it’s nice to be in this magical city. While things got off to a rocky start with Lisa Rinna, I’m going to chalk it up as jet lag… for now,” Girardi reveals about the current Real Housewives drama on the show.
Yolanda has expressed disappointment in her Real Housewives co-stars, especially when it comes to her illness. She’s often defending herself in her blogs, but this week, she decided to focus on her own journey and she remembered the night of the gala, according to Bravo.
“Watching tonight’s episode brought tears back to my eyes. Seeing my children, my mom and friends show up to support me, speak for me and listen for me meant more than words can ever say. We who suffer from chronic Lyme can only ask for our loved ones to try to understand and be compassionate about this invisible disease. Thank god I am blessed with a small circle that has guided me through these years and never let go. The Global Lyme Alliance gala was a huge success. Together we raised over $3 million dollars that evening for research, proper diagnostics, and to one day find a cure!” she reveals.
What do you think of the Real Housewives women and them questioning Yolanda? Do you think Erika is a good friend for standing by her friend no matter what?
