Dilithium Unveils Content Adapter for Real-time Mobile Video

Dilithium has announced the Dilithium Content Adapter (DCA), a high capacity and scalable solution that automates real-time delivery of video content over multiple networks to any device.

The DCA offers real-time, on demand media conversion with minimal latency, avoiding the need for off-line transcoding. The service is pitched at service providers and content owners who want “to deliver a superior customer experience, increase revenue streams, and attract and retain new customers with minimum capital investment.”

Why is this interesting? Traditionally service providers have been unable to deliver 2-way multimedia content to wireless and broadband devices without customized coding for each device and network type such as 2.5G, 3G, WiFi or WiMAX; the short version: it’s a complete pain. Dilithium simplifies the process and makes it quick, cheap and easy to work with.
