Elizabeth Olsen Never Even Received Invite To Star In ‘Fuller House’

Full House star John Stamos has adamantly taken on the task of trying to guarantee the appearance of Michelle Tanner in the Netflix reboot Fuller House. As it became more and more clear that neither of the Olsen twins had an interest in being part of the reboot, John tossed the idea of recasting Michelle Tanner and asking the twins’ younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, to take on the role.

“We talked to her agent, and her agent was like, ‘Come on, she’s not going to do that.’ But we did call her agent.”

Stamos confirmed during an interview on the Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show that the younger sister’s agent was contacted about the role but shrugged it off as something Elizabeth Olsen wouldn’t even consider.

Why Wouldn’t The Olsen Twins Take The Part, Anyway?

The Inquisitr reported the main reason that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen declined the offer to appear in the reboot Fuller House was due to the strained relationship the twins had with John Stamos. The twins confirmed that rumors Stamos attempted to get the twins fired when they were just babies in Full House were true. He has apologized for this and tried to reach out to the twins on several different occasions without any success.

According to USA Today, Elizabeth Olsen was never told that Stamos and Jeff Franklin (the creator of the series) had tossed around the idea of having her take on the part her sisters were known for.

“If I did, I’m pretty sure no one on my team heard it. I don’t know where that started.”

During a brief interview with E! News on the red carpet of the premiere of I Saw the Light, Elizabeth went on to say she did watch the first episode of the series and thought “it was great.” The younger Olsen sister also claimed that she had no idea who could have started the rumor about her being invited to take on the role of the youngest Tanner. When asked if she thought Jeff Franklin might have had something to do with it, Elizabeth mentioned the fact that she had known the creator of the series since she was a baby and had absolutely nothing bad to say about him.

What Has Elizabeth Olsen Been Up To?

In 2015, Elizabeth Olsen starred as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Scarlet Witch was the twin sister of Quicksilver. Elizabeth’s character was able to harness magic in order to engage in telekinesis and hypnosis. According to Olsen, she drew from her relationship with her older sisters and older brother for inspiration on how to best handle the character.

Scheduled for release on March 25, Elizabeth also starred as music legend Hank Williams’ first wife, Audrey Williams, in a film titled I Saw the Light.

Scheduled for release on April 12, the Olsen will take on the character of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch again in the film Captain America: Civil War.

In the interview above on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Elizabeth discusses her latest part in the soon-to-be-released film I Saw the Light. Jimmy asks Elizabeth about her requirement to sing in the film. While the younger Olsen sister claims to enjoy singing, she stated she would never consider herself an actual singer. In fact, she preferred having the opportunity to sing as someone else instead. Olsen went on to talk about how enjoyable singing in the film really was because Audrey Williams, the character she played in the film, was known for being a bad singer. This allowed Elizabeth to enjoy singing in the movie without feeling pressured to be a good singer.

Do you think Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will ever reconsider and guest star on Fuller House? Do you think their younger sister Elizabeth would consider taking on the part of Michelle if she was ever officially offered the part? Finally, will you be heading out to see Elizabeth Olsen in I Saw the Light after it is released?
