Melania Trump Slut-Shaming Ad Launched In Utah By Anti-Donald Trump Campaign

A Melania Trump slut-shaming ad was launched by an anti-Donald campaign in Utah.

According to Buzzfeed, the anti-Donald Trump Super PAC ran three ads in an all-out effort to dissuade Mormons from voting for Trump, not the least of which contains one that is slut-shaming his wife, Melania.

The anti-Trump organization, Make America Awesome, is founded by Republican strategist, Liz Mair. Her goal was to increase turnout among members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before the Utah primary on Tuesday.

According to the report, most LDS voters are Republican, but there’s a strong dislike for Trump. A deterrent for them is Trump’s vile behavior and his hard-line stances against immigration and Muslim religious freedom.

The Super PAC is pushing Mormons to vote for Ted Cruz with the slut-shaming ad of Melania Trump, as well as two others. One features Mitt Romney encouraging voters to support the Republican who can beat Trump in their state. Another shows Trump’s history of pro-choice views, an issue he’s been inconsistent with.

The Melania Trump ad features the model posing nude with the header, “Meet Melania Trump. You’re Next First Lady.” The footer reads, “Or, you could vote for Ted Cruz on Tuesday.”

An image of Melania is depicted from a photo shoot she did for British GQ back in 2000. The 45-year-old model is more than a pretty face who’s married to a mega successful billionaire. Melania possesses a head for business, knows five languages, and is a devoted mother to the son she shares with Donald — Barron Trump, 10.

Mrs. Trump studied architecture and design at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia prior to becoming a successful fashion model. If that’s not enough, she has her own jewelry and cosmetics lines sold on QVC.

The Melania Trump slut-shaming ad is offensive on multiple levels because it’s stereotyping a beautiful woman as a morally loose individual who could be America’s possible next first-lady. Many criticize Donald Trump for his “sexist” and “chauvinistic” insults towards women, but the very opponents of Trump who voice this the most are using sexist rhetoric themselves by targeting his wife.

Vox published an update on the report, stating that Make America Awesome’s Liz Mair objected to the idea that the ad was “slut-shaming” Melania Trump. She also objects to the word “slut” in any form, according to the report.

The piece reads, “The ad would appeal to Mormon women not because it suggests anything about Mrs. Trump’s sexual proclivities,” Mair said, “but because Mormon women wouldn’t like the ‘typical porn/porn-lite’ message of ‘female subservience’ in the picture.”

“The fact is, the image in the ad — for which Melania Trump apparently willingly posed and has long been widely available online — isn’t objectionable because she’s nude or because it implies she’s promiscuous (which, by the way, it doesn’t, though it does suggest she may have bigger hands than Donald),” Mair wrote in an email. “It’s objectionable because in typical porn/porn-lite fashion, it features her handcuffed to a briefcase, looking vulnerable and sends an implicit message of female subservience, as a lot of photos of tethered, naked women produced for male titillation and consumption do. And Mormon women don’t much like that.”

Donald Trump wasn’t impressed with the ad and reacted on Twitter by writing, “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

The Donald may or may not target Cruz’s wife. If he believes Cruz knew about this ad, he may very well avenge the ad. This could get even uglier if it comes to that.
