Chloe Grace Moretz Blasts Taylor Swift’s Squad For Promoting ‘Exclusivity’

Chloe Grace Moretz is revealing why she turned down an invitation from Taylor Swift to join her infamous girl squad.

Moretz made the surprising admission that she opted out of joining Swift’s squad in the new interview with Complex magazine. Chloe confessed that she said no to becoming a member of Taylor’s group, which includes big names like Selena Gomez and Karlie Kloss, because squads like Swift’s “promote exclusivity.”

Admitting to the magazine that she’s good friends with Selena, who’s arguably the most famous member of Taylor’s “squad,” Chloe told the publication that her association with the “Hands to Myself” singer once lead to an invitation into Taylor’s very exclusive friendship group.

Simply replying “yes” when asked if Taylor ever asked her to join the group, Moretz stayed noticeably tight-lipped about the details surrounding her rejection of Taylor’s world-famous girl squad of models, actresses, and singers.

“She’s a very talented person,” Chloe coyly told Complex of Taylor Swift.

She also admitted that she opts to stay away from friendship groups such as Taylor’s because she thinks squads are too exclusive.

“They appropriate exclusivity. They’re cliques!” Moretz told the magazine of her stance on the issue.

Chloe also got candid about feminism in the new issue of the magazine, admitting that she believed feminism should be about equality for all, not just a few.

“It’s about equality — and it’s not just about women being powerful,” Chloe told the April/May issue of Complex. “It’s about races being powerful; genders being powerful.”

Chloe Grace Moretz previously spoke out about Taylor’s squad, and other groups like it, back in November, where Moretz slammed the concept of promoting an exclusive squad during an in-depth interview with Nylon magazine.

“I agree with having a good core group of friends, but the issue I have with squads is it creates exclusivity,” Chloe told the magazine of the “squad goals” concept last year.

“I was never included in those things when I was a kid,” Moretz continued, adding that she “was the weird one that chose to do movies, so now I go out of my way to be nice to people and make them feel included.”

Chloe Grace Moretz’s confessions about why she’s not the biggest fans of Taylor’s squad comes just days after Moretz hit the headlines for getting candid about another pop culture superstar on social media.

Earlier this month, Moretz was called out by reality star Kim Kardashian after the actress publicly spoke out about Kardashian’s most recent eyebrow-raising nude selfie that Kardashian opted to post on her official Instagram page on March 7.

“I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies,” Chloe tweeted to Kim about the snap, who then hit back with a pretty scathing Twitter comment of her own.

“Let’s all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is,” Kardashian tweeted back on the social media site to Chloe, adding, “your nylon cover is cute boo.”

Chloe then clarified her remarks about Kardashian’s snap on the social media site, denying that she was “slut shaming” Kim for posting her nude photo to Instagram.

“There’s a huge difference in respecting the platform that you’re given as a celebrity and ‘slut shaming’ something I never have done and will never do,” Moretz told her more than two million Twitter followers on March 8.
