Jana Duggar Reveals Ideal Man, Says She Doesn’t Just Take Care Of Babies And Cook [Video]

Jana Duggar is getting her chance to shine in tonight’s episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, “Date Nights and Bright Lights.” But don’t let the title fool you—Jana isn’t the Duggar girl who will be going on a date. Instead, she’ll spend the episode helping one of her younger sisters while trying to prove that she’s not just the “Cinderella Duggar” of the family. The 26-year-old will also describe her Prince Charming, and fans will be surprised to learn that Jana Duggar prefers her men nice and dirty.

According to the International Business Times, a promo for Jill & Jessa: Counting On shows Anna Duggar questioning Jana Duggar about her ideal guy. Instead of dancing around the question, Jana gives an uncharacteristically straightforward response to Anna’s inquiry. Could be a sign that the 26-year-old is getting desperate to find Mr. Right?

“A hard-working guy versus an office job guy,” Jana Duggar said.

Jana has seemingly talked to Jessa about her ideal man, because the younger Duggar quickly added that Jana “prefers a guy that gets his hand dirty.”

“I want dirt under the nails,” Jana agreed.

During an interview with People, Jana Duggar also said that she doesn’t expect her future husband to be perfect.

“You’re not going to marry a ‘perfect’ person; we aren’t perfect ourselves!”

Many fans of the Duggar family want to Jana Duggar to be the next Duggar daughter that walks down the aisle. She’s had to watch two of her younger sisters beat her to the altar, and Jill and Jessa’s marriages meant that Jana lost two helpers around the house. Until they get married, the older Duggar daughters are expected to live at home with their parents and take care of their younger siblings.

As Radar Online reports, some longtime fans of the Duggar family believe that the Duggars mistreat Jana Duggar by ordering her around. During Jill Duggar’s wedding special, Jana was shown sewing nine bridesmaids dresses while the rest of her family kicked back and relaxed at an afternoon tea party.

A source close to the Duggar family revealed that Jana Duggar has been acting like a mini-parent to her younger siblings since the age of 13 and that parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar “totally transitioned a lot of their parental responsibilities onto her.” Crushable speculates that Jana’s parents are purposely trying to keep her from courting and getting married because she’s so needed at home.

“It’s clear that the family can’t afford to replace all that free labor with paid labor, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Jim Bob was turning a blind eye to suitors.”

However, during an interview with People, Jim Bob Duggar said that Jana is just picky: She doesn’t like any of the guys that he likes. Jim Bob expects all interested suitors to consult with him, and he decides which guys to tell his daughters about. Perhaps he’s only been telling Jana about all the accountants and lawyers.

“There have been a lot of guys who have been interested in her, I have gone to hear about each one, and so far she hasn’t felt that is the way the Lord is leading,” Jim Bob said.

In the Jill & Jessa: Counting On promo clip below, Jana confirms that she hasn’t been interested in any of the interested guys, but she’s been tempted to marry one of them simply because she’s so eager to go on dates and have children of her own.

The International Business Times speculates that tonight’s episode of Counting On is all about dispelling the belief that Jana Duggar spends all day cooking and taking care of her siblings while she waits for Jim Bob to find her Prince Charming. People shared a promo for tonight’s episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On that shows Jana addressing the concerns that she spends most of her time taking caring for her younger siblings.

“I don’t always like to be on the forefront, but I enjoy the behind-the-scenes and working on different projects,” Jana says. “I don’t only cook and take care of babies. Surprise!”

Jana will spend her time in the spotlight assisting her brothers with the installation of new lights in Jessa’s house, and some critics are pointing out that all of the “different projects” that Jana Duggar works on always involve aiding her family in some form or fashion.

“Any way Jana tries to spin it, as an adult she is still under the authority of her controlling dad,” one People commenter wrote.

“All of her ‘interests’ revolve around ‘projects’ for the Duggar family … She cannot participate in the secular world, get an education, get a regular job, or gain any kind of independence. She cannot leave home until she is married off, at which time she will commence reproducing.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, a future episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On will show Jana Duggar assisting with another family project: the construction of a tree house for her younger siblings to enjoy.

According to TV Guide, tonight’s episode of Counting On will also show Jessa Duggar and husband Ben Seewald going out on a date, and a few members of the Duggar family visiting Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard in Central America.
