For supporters of either the Chick-fil-A boycott or “buycott,” both sides have it wrong according to natural health expert Mike Adams.

Adams, the self-designated “health ranger,” warns that regardless of what you think about traditional vs. same sex marriage, it doesn’t change the fact in his view that the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich is loaded with dangerous substances like MSG and dimethylpolysiloxane.

While Adams writes that as libertarian and Christian, he supports the Chick-fil-a CEO’s right to freedom of speech under the U.S. Constitution, Adams at the same time is okay with same sex marriage.

Adams maintains that “the cowardly attack on Chick-fil-A’s free speech was absolutely disgraceful.”

He adds that “The masses of people lining up in support of Chick-fil-A — and even willing to eat MSG! — clearly showed the attempted attack on the restaurant failed miserably.”

That being said, Adams suggests that he can’t figure out who is “losing worse”  in the fast food/marriage controversy:

Is it the idiotic reptilian [Chicago Mayor] Emanuel who threatens economic sanctions against businesses that don’t cower down to his personal gay marriage agenda?

Is it the Chick-for-brains stooges who eat MSG and anti-foaming chemicals and somehow believe they will win by poisoning themselves with processed fast food?

…Listen up, Christians. I hate to break this news to ya, but eating chemically-laced fast food is a VIOLATION of GOD’s will. The Bible teaches that your body is your temple. If you poison your body with chemicals, you act in violation of God’s will and the teachings of the Bible.

Leaving the health implications aside for a moment, all indications are that yesterday’s Chick-fil-A appreciation day (i.e., buycott) brought a huge amount of cash into the company at its franchise restaurants all over the country.

Again, many people apparently showed up who are nonetheless supporters of same sex marriage.  For example, this was reported by Yahoo! News in its coverage of the large crowd that turned out at a suburban Denver restaurant:

For those like John Mohler, 50, of Thornton, Colo., eating at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday was about defending free speech. Mohler said he doesn’t share Cathy’s belief–only his rights to air them.

“I’m not sure I agree with his position on gay marriage,” said Mohler, who drove to Englewood from downtown Denver on his lunch break. “But I applaud the owner for speaking his mind, and that’s why I’m here.”

…Further up the line, Jessica Cather, 29, Dana Haskins, 42, and Sarah Touhy, 43, all stressed that though they support same-sex marriage, they also support the right to believe what anyone wants to believe.

“We support tolerance on both sides,” Haskins said.

“Just because they don’t support gay marriage, it doesn’t make them a bad company,” Touhy said.

Blogger Bob Owens expressed a similar viewpoint:

The massive crowd reaction locally and nationwide are driven by a loathing of arrogant politicians like those in Boston, New York, Chicago and San Francisco who feel they have the power and the authority to tell a businessman like Dan Cathy what personal opinions he can and cannot hold if he wants to do business in “their” towns.

They trampled on his religious beliefs. They trampled on his freedom of speech. They attempted to deny him and his franchisees the rights to start small businesses, merely because a free American dared to share what he believed.
