George Clooney Calls Hillary Clinton ‘The Only Grown-Up’ In The Presidential Race

George Clooney has always been very vocal about his political views. During the current presidential race, he’s not holding back. Although he stated that he “really loves” Bernie Sanders, it looks like Clooney is officially backing Hillary Clinton.

The famous actor and political activist wrote a letter recently, coming out as a Hillary Clinton supporter. It’s quite the shock given how much Bernie Sanders has resonated with the far left, which is a side that Clooney is known to speak from. That said, Clooney called Mrs. Clinton “the only grown-up in the room.” Those are some strong words, which are gaining some traction around Hollywood and the Twittersphere.

In the letter, which was sent to supporters of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, Clooney wrote, “If you listen to the loudest voices out there today, you’d think we’re a country that hates Mexicans, hates Muslims, and thinks that committing war crimes is the best way to make America great again. The truth is that the only thing that would prevent America from being great would be to empower these voices.”

This is obviously a huge jab at Republican front-runner Donald Trump and the racist vitriol he’s accused of speaking at his rallies. Clooney continued with his support of Clinton.

“As this primary process continues, Hillary could soon have an insurmountable delegate lead and with that, the Democratic nomination. That would then make her the only grown-up in the room. And if ever there was a time for a grown-up, that time is now.”

Earlier in the month, the Inquisitr reported about Clooney’s thoughts on Bernie Sanders, another Democrat hopeful for the presidential nomination. Of Mr. Sanders, George said that he loves Bernie Sanders because he’s opening up a conversation in U.S. politics that hasn’t been addressed before, specifically the classism that exists between the rich and poor, which Clooney said is “getting worse and worse every day.” That said, before he paid compliments to Sanders, he specified to the Guardian that he is a Hillary supporter and that he was going to be doing a fundraiser for her.

The fundraiser will see George and his wife, Amal Clooney, join Clinton, which was outlined in the email. Deadline Hollywood reported that tickets for the event are going for $33,400 per ticket, which will take place on April 16. Those who purchase tickets for the event will get to hang out with Clinton, Clooney, and wife Amal.

That said, you don’t have to be mega rich to join in on the fun. Those who want to enter the contest can donate $10 to enter for a chance to meet the trio.

As for George Clooney’s comments on Donald Trump, this isn’t the first time he’s put the GOP front-runner down. In the same interview with the Guardian, Clooney went on to call Trump an “opportunist” and a “xenophobic fascist.”

George Clooney’s event for Hillary Clinton is not expected to top his record-breaking fundraiser he held for President Barack Obama. Back in 2012, that fundraiser took home a whopping $15 million.
