Bill O’Reilly of Fox News barely lifted a finger–his index finger–to do “the wave” in Yankee Stadium on Monday night in the seventh inning. His seatmate, Donald Trump, was a lot more animated, but his timing was way off.  Maybe it was the business suit and tie that was interfering with his technique.

The Blaze website seems to be grading on a curve when it posted that “When the wave came their way, they both sucked. But for his enthusiasm, we give Trump an A-plus.” In this context, the wave does not refer to Mr. Trump’s hairstyle.

The “Evil Empire” (a.k.a. the New York Yankees) lost the game 5-4 to the Baltimore Orioles. Going into today’s action, the Yankees have lost four in a row and 9 of the last 12 games, although they still have a big lead in the American League East.

O’Reilly apparently said on his show Tuesday night that he doesn’t like the wave and to some degree he may have a point. If you go to an MLB game, the wave can be fun–the first couple of times. But then it can get a bit tedious.

Bill O’Reilly recently signed a multi-year contract with the Fox News Channel to continue doing The O’Reilly Factor, which is a ratings juggernaut despite or because of O’Reilly’s sometimes overbearing personality.  The Factor, which airs at 8 p.m. Eastern and again at 11 p.m. Eastern, has been the top rated cable news show for more than 10 years and at times has pulled higher ratings than programming on the conventional broadcast networks in the same time slot.
