Harry Styles Blasting Naughty Boy, Jay Z, Or Caroline Flack In Advice To Fifth Harmony?

It’s been rumored since Zayn Malik left One Direction last year that he and former bandmate Harry Styles are not on fantastic terms, with Hollywood Life reporting that curly-haired Harry felt “betrayed” and “disrespected” after Zayn jumped ship in the middle of the One Direction On The Road Again tour. It appears the memory may still be haunting Harry — he seemed to have Zayn’s betrayal on his mind when he gave advice to girl group Fifth Harmony recently. Harry was also probably thinking about the many people who have tried to snatch the boys from their One Direction commitments over the years. It must be extremely annoying to Harry that he always did the right thing, resisting the overtures of people trying to get involved with him, while Zayn appeared to have zero willpower, dropping One Direction as soon as Naughty Boy came knocking!

Remember when Perez Hilton reported about the fans crying that “Naughty Boy got what he wanted” and that “he stole Zayn”?

To be fair, Zayn was rumored to feel genuinely unhappy and creatively stifled in One Direction, so this was surely a huge factor in his decision to opt out.

Nevertheless, Harry Styles seemed to have 1D body-snatching on his mind when he spoke to the Fifth Harmony girls.

“[T]here are gonna be people that are gonna come and try to snatch you. People are gonna try to break you guys apart.”

Harry certainly knows a lot about that, and yet he has rejected every deal-maker who came knocking. As the most popular One Direction member in many parts of the world, Harry has long been the one most energetically courted by music bosses, rival labels, and all manner of would-be business partners with dollar signs in their eyes. Most recently, Jay-Z approached Harry saying he wanted to help the young singer become “the biggest star in the world within a year.” News.com.au reported that Jay Z claimed that his help would be key in helping Harry to transition to solo success.

“[Harry needs help] to make the transition from being part of a group to becoming an individual artist…I can get him working with the bigger artists, the biggest producers…I would love to sign Harry.”

Harry did not take the music boss up on his offer — perhaps he heard about the problems Jay Z was having with the Tidal streaming service. Or perhaps Harry is loyal and only willing to entrust his career and welfare to people he feels a connection with. Good friend Jeff Azoff is Harry’s new manager and his PR company Dawbell appears to have been chosen because the company shares a progressive, innovative and sex-positive outlook that Harry feels in sync with.

Virtually as soon as One Direction’s hiatus was announced, groups of greedy music bosses started circling Harry like birds of prey, according to the Daily Mail. It’s adorable and wise of Harry to stick to avenues that are in sync with his values. When Harry spoke to Fifth Harmony, he emphasised the importance of friendship, telling the girls that it is the glue that will hold them together when everyone starts knocking on their doors trying to break them apart.

“So as long as you five are your best friends, that’s the most important.'”

It’s not just business heads who have been courting Harry. When Caroline Flack pursued the young star romantically during the fetus era of One Direction, many reported on it as if Flack was a hostile invading military, and many One Direction fans, who hated seeing young Harry in that relationship, felt the same way. Celebrity Big Brother star Kerry Katona spoke out, slamming Caroline for “courting” such a young guy, according to Digital Spy. Katona compared it to Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, saying Harry and Caroline were completely different because Harry was a boy — he had not left school and was not allowed to drink.

“If it’s a Demi and Ashton situation that’s different because they’re older…But Harry is just a 17-year-old boy, so in my eyes it’s wrong. He’s not long left school. He’s not even allowed to drink yet.”

Harry decided to “cool” the relationship soon after, possibly because the controversy was rocking the band and the fandom. Yet again, Harry put his One Direction brothers and fans above everything else!

It’s no wonder the curly-haired superstar felt betrayed when Zayn left. Harry has always pulled hard for the band, resisting everyone from Jay Z to director Harvey Weinstein, who offered him a film role in 2014, according to Daily Mail, and which Harry turned down.
