Jeremy Calvert Plans To Exit ‘Teen Mom 2’ Following Season 7
Jeremy Calvert has become a familiar face on reality television. He joined Teen Mom 2 when he married Leah Messer. The two welcomed a daughter, Addie, just three years ago. Since then, a lot has changed. Calvert and Messer were divorced last summer. Both have moved on with other people, and have remained amicable through everything. Many fans were sad when the couple split, but both are set to appear on Teen Mom 2 for the upcoming seventh season.
It appears that Jeremy Calvert has plans for the future, and they may not involve reality television. According to The Ashley, Jeremy Calvert is done with Teen Mom 2. He is planning to finish out his contractual obligations for the seventh season, but intends to walk away from the franchise. Calvert has been divorced from Leah Messer for almost a year, and doesn’t feel like he has any true ties to the show anymore. He did film the entire season and is currently in New York City to film the reunion portion. There are some other reasons behind his wanting to leave Teen Mom 2, but it is mostly because he is over being connected to the show. Calvert isn’t big on fame and fortune, and hasn’t been since joining the show. Despite the hefty paychecks the moms make, Calvert still went to work every single day. In fact, he works year-round on top of filming for Teen Mom 2.
The news that Jeremy Calvert is planning to bail on Teen Mom 2 isn’t shocking. After filming several seasons, he is just ready to move on. Just a few days ago, Adam Lind announced he was going to be calling it quits as well. In fact, he went on a rant and exposed how much the ladies on Teen Mom 2 actually make per season. While Jeremy Calvert’s decision is not connected to Lind’s, it does make for an interesting coincidence. Rumors that Nathan Griffith may be the next dad to jump ship have been talked about, but nothing has been confirmed. With several of the dads exiting, could this be a sign the show is coming to an end?
Without two parents consenting for a child to be filmed on Teen Mom 2, it cannot happen. According to Starcasm, Jeremy Calvert is considering pulling Addie from filming. He is concerned his daughter will be known as one of the kids from the show, and not have her own individual identity. Calvert could completely block Leah Messer from allowing Addie to be on camera. This was also threatened by Adam Lind, but Chelsea Houska calls all the shots where Aubree is concerned. Calvert and Messer have been doing well co-parenting, so this may be an easy call. Fans hope that Jeremy Calvert will reconsider letting his daughter air, even if he just cuts back the amount of time she can be filmed.
As of now, Jeremy Calvert has not confirmed his exit from Teen Mom 2 officially yet. It is likely coming, especially since this weekend is when the reunion show is being filmed in New York City. Fans are interested to see how Calvert and Leah Messer get along, especially with a new girlfriend in the picture. Brooke Wehr will be introduced this season and while Calvert and her split up, they have recently reconciled.
There seems to be a lot of changes ahead for the franchise, especially if these exits are truly happening. The show won’t be the same without Jeremy Calvert and Addie appearing in Leah Messer’s story, but at the end of the day he has to make the best decision for both himself and his daughter.
