David R. Wilson: Texas Pedophile Who Infected Toddler With HIV Sentenced To Life In Prison
David R. Wilson, 33, was sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of sexually molesting a toddler and a young girl and subsequently infecting them with sexually transmitted diseases. At the time of his arrest, Wilson was already a registered sex offender, as he was convicted of sexually assaulting another 14-year-old girl in 2005.
Although he spent four years in prison and was a registered sex offender, David R. Wilson was living in a Houston, Texas, home with two young girls in 2013. As reported by ABC 13 it is unclear how the 14-year-old was related to the defendant. However, the 23-month-old was his niece. Authorities said the toddler was sent to live in Houston as her parents were habitual drug users.
In November 2014, the toddler underwent a medical examination for a genital injury and other unexplained symptoms. Doctors later confirmed the 23-month-old girl tested positive for chlamydia, HIV, and genital herpes. She was also forced to undergo reconstructive surgery on her genitals.
Medical officials informed authorities that the young girl was a victim of sexual abuse due to the injuries and the STDs.
Tests were carried out on four people who lived at the Houston residence, including David R. Wilson, who tested positive for HIV and reportedly told investigators he was receiving treatment for chlamydia. It is unclear why he was not arrested at that time based on this evidence and his history as a convicted pedophile.
Wilson came under suspicion when the 14-year-old girl spoke to a caseworker at the Children’s Assessment Center and admitted she had sex with Wilson on at least one occasion.
A subsequent medical examination confirmed the teen was infected with chlamydia, herpes, and HIV. She was also determined to be pregnant with David R. Wilson’s child.
Wilson was eventually charged with super aggravated sexual assault of a child, due to the age of the child and the extent of her injuries.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour and found Wilson guilty of the heinous crime. On Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison.
Joel Androphy, a legal analyst, likened knowingly transmitting an STD to another person to an assault with a deadly weapon.
“It’s a monster that does this kind of crime, this guy doesn’t deserve one minute less than the maximum punishment.”
In 2015, Michael Pittman, 27, was jailed for raping a 5-year-old girl and infecting her with STD while he was out on bond for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old child.
As reported by ABC Action News, an investigation was launched when the child was taken to the hospital after complaining of symptoms that were later diagnosed as an STD.
Authorities learned that Pittman knew both victims and threatened to kill them if they talked to anybody.
In 2014, former police officer Troy Estree from Michigan was arrested for raping his 15-year-old-niece and infecting her with herpes. Rolling Out reports Estree molested the teen numerous times, including one time on the trunk of his police cruiser while he was dressed in uniform.
Estree was acquitted of all charges as a jury determined that there was not enough evidence presented to convict him.
In an interview with Battle Creek Enquirer, Josh Blanchard, attorney for the defendant, said, “the jury listened to the evidence and they took it pretty seriously. They reached the right verdict. Her story just didn’t make sense.”
The girl was deemed clinically insane and delusional by Estree’s attorney, even though more than 1,000 text messages were exchanged between the former police officer and his alleged victim.

Despite his acquittal, Estree was later charged with unlawful sexual conduct involving another relative.
Children and teen who are molested often face a lifetime of emotional and mental health issues. However, those who contract a sexually transmitted disease from their attacker also suffer from physical issues — which may have no cure.
David R. Wilson will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for molesting his 23-month-old niece and a 14-year-old girl. Unfortunately, both of his victims will spend the rest of their lives suffering from a variety of devastating diseases.
