‘The Bachelor’s’ Ben Higgins And Lauren Bushnell Already Headed For A Split?

The 20th season of The Bachelor was one of the craziest to date, with Ben Higgins finally choosing Lauren Bushnell over JoJo Fletcher in the season finale. Although the couple have been engaged for four months now, is their relationship already in trouble? Based on how things ended on the show and their recent interviews together, it appears as though Higgins and Bushnell might be headed for a split.

Radar Online is reporting that Higgins and Bushnell opened up about their relationship during a new interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While the pair dished on their biggest pet peeves, their comments made it sound as though their relationship isn’t at a great place.

“Ben is a very heavy breather out of his mouth. Like a very heavy mouth breather,” Bushnell told Kimmel. However, Higgins was quick to defend himself. “I have big lungs so it takes a lot to fill them up with air,” he stated.

Higgins went on to share how his religion plays part in their everyday lives, which has been a source of conflict between the two Bachelor stars. “I like to pray for us before we go to bed,” Higgins admitted in the interview. “It’s something that we’ve enjoyed doing. We need a lot of prayer right now. And I’m praying, she stops me and goes, ‘Can you not pray so loud?'”

The idea that Higgins and Bushnell have a lot of things to work through isn’t surprising. After all, Higgins did tell Fletcher that he loved her prior to picking Bushnell in the end. In fact, according to People, Bushnell recently opened up about her true feelings after production for the show ended.

In particular, Bushnell admitted that she went through a wave of emotions once The Bachelor wrapped and the cameras were gone. Not only did she struggle with her emotions, but she still has a hard time dealing with everything that went down.

“Post filming was more of an emotional roller coaster than the actual show,” she told the outlet. “I fall more in love with Ben every day and it’s hard to separate what happened long ago and my current feelings. It’s confusing. It does wear on me.”

Although Bushnell was adamant that they have worked through their issues, a source told Wet Paint that Higgins’ past feelings for Fletcher remains at the heart of their problems. Apparently, things have gotten so bad that the two are ready to call it quits.

“[Bushnell is] having a very hard time getting over the fact that Ben told another woman ‘I love you’ within hours of proposing to her,” the insider explained. “These last few months have been brutal. Ben and his fiancée have been fighting non-stop. He feels emotionally dumped. At this point, the romance is gone between them.”

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, instead of planning for a lavish wedding, Bushnell has already called off the engagement while she works through her emotions. The hardest part for Bushnell to get over is the fact that she thought she was the only one Higgins loved, and discovering that he shared similar feelings for Fletcher only hours before his final decision has been hard to overcome.

That being said, it has not been officially confirmed if Bushnell has decided to call off her engagement to Higgins. Furthermore, Bushnell appears to be willing to work through her past emotions and attempt to salvage her romance with Higgins.

“Ben is the most understanding, and empathetic, supportive and a great listener,” she told Kimmel. “Anytime I do feel things, I express them and he listens and we talk about it.”
