South Africa President Jacob Zuma Under Fire As Scandals Continue And The Economy Plummets

As South Africa faces an economy that continues to spiral downward, President Jacob Zuma, the head of the ruling party the African National Congress (ANC), is facing more scandal. Farm murders, the possibility of white genocide, economic failure, and the highest crime rate for murder in the world continue to plague the president as the current South African government has failed to effectively address these issues.

Reuters reported that President Zuma’s latest scandal involves allegations by Eksom’s ex-boss alleging Gupta influence. Zola Tsotsi, who resigned a year ago from the power firm Eksom, said that his leaving the company was orchestrated by the Guptas, a wealthy South African family. The Guptas have been accused of offering cabinet posts to two ANC politicians. Tsotsi said he was fired two months after his appointment because he didn’t play the game.

“Two months after the appointment, they called me and said they will have me fired because I am not playing the game. I was forced to resign shortly after that.”

The scandal erupted when South Africa’s Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas said that he and another member of the ANC had been offered cabinet posts in Zuma’s government by the Gupta family. The Guptas, an Indian-born family that moved to South Africa in the early 90s, deny any claims of involvement in the appointments of Jacob Zuma’s cabinet ministers.

Nazeem Howa, the CEO of Oakbay Investments, a part of the Gupta business empire, rejected the assertion saying that the Guptas were not involved.

“We play no role in the hiring and firing of anyone outside of our own business… These allegations are nothing more than political gossip and innuendo.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, South Africa faces another downgrade in its credit rating and could face the next level above junk status by the end of the month. South Africa’s governmental policies, such as Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), have hurt the South African economy by excluding whites from the job market. Farm murders, threats of white genocide, the highest murder rate in the world, and a declining economy have contributed to the problems in South Africa that, so far, President Zuma and the ANC-led government have failed to effectively resolve.

The Independent reported that President Zuma needed to end his embarrassing reign in South Africa. Because of the number of scandals he has been embroiled in since his presidency began, it was time for him to quit. Zuma has denied his involvement with the Guptas and the naming of the cabinet ministers’ scandal.

Other scandals that Zuma has been involved in include adding an amphitheater to one of his homes at taxpayer expense. The cost of the amphitheater amounted to almost $19 million.

Zuma was also accused of rape, a charge he was later cleared of. At ANC rallies, he sang songs like “Kill the Boer” and “Bring Me My Machine Gun,” songs the ANC sang during the apartheid era as a protest against whites, as well as a threat against killing white South Africans. Dr. Gregory Stanton of Genocide Watch believes that this is a call for white genocide in South Africa and believes that the country currently sits at stage six on a scale of eight for white genocide. This means that the government is in preparation for the event.

During apartheid, Zuma was the head of the ANC’s spy agency. It is believed that this is the reason he has managed to stay in power in South Africa and continue his grip on both the country and the government even though many South Africans continue to demand he resign.
