‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For March 18, Zhalo Supercell And Xur Phones It In For Titans

Destiny players got some great news yesterday as Bungie laid out its plans for the big spring update scheduled to be released in April. Friday was a return to the grind for PlayStation and Xbox players, though, as Xûr partially refreshes his stock of Exotic gear. Yes, partially. The mysterious vendor has nearly the exact same Insurmountable Skullfort on sale this week that was available last week. The good news is the Zhalo Supercell and Obsidian Mind have returned as they have not been sold in a while.

Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city this weekend. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, March 13. He will be gone as soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT.

Zhalo Supercell

This Exotic Auto Rifle is the only new Primary Weapon out of Destiny: The Taken King that is capable of dishing out elemental damage. While the piece is limited to Arc damage, it is still a deliciously fun weapon to use. The namesake primary perk gives each shot a chance to chain lightning damage when enemies are close together. It also adds the “Bolts from the Blue” perk in the final column to charge Super energy and return ammo when stringing kills together.

In short, the Zhalo Supercell is a fun weapon to use that is capable of dishing out a good amount of damage despite being the high rate of fire, low impact archetype.

An Insurmountable Skullfort

Destiny players with Sunbreaker Titans may have a new best friend for PVE. The Year Two version of An Insurmountable Skullfort has a new, innate perk that grants an extra melee attack in addition to free melee energy on spawn. This synergizes excellently with the new “Melting Point” ability for Sunbreakers that provides a significant debuff to enemies and works well with Defender Titans’ “Overshield” perk.

Other perks on the helmet include the choice between “Hands-On” or “Second Thoughts” to give extra Super Energy from melee or Special Weapon Kills. It also comes with the “Invigoration” perk that grants bonus melee energy when picking up Orbs of Light.

The split 50 Discipline and 49 Strength stat roll is decent and supports the helmet’s primary punching perk. The only reason to re-roll with Glass Needles might be to shoot for a higher Strength roll and possibly Intellect depending on your build.

Radiant Dance Machines

Hunters who want to move faster should check out the Radiant Dance Machines. Not only will these Exotic boots grant style points, but they also give increased movement speed when aiming down sights via “The Dance” perk. The PVE utility of this perk is questionable, but it is of great use in PVP. Destiny players can stack this with weapons that come with agility buffs, such as MIDA Multi-tool, to move even faster.

The 58 Intellect and 60 Strength stat roll for these boots is excellent. The ability to carry more Sniper Rifle or Machine Gun ammo is always welcome. Destiny players will need to decide if its worth re-rolling if they want a different ammo option.

Obsidian Mind

The Obsidian Mind helmet is a still must-have for Voidwalker Warlocks, especially in PVE. The “Insatiable” (Nova Bomb kills reduce Nova Bomb killdown) intrinsic perk will make your Warlock a Nova Bomb-chucking machine when combined with the optional perks of extra super energy from either grenade kills or Special Weapon kills. Pair this helmet with the Soul Rip class talent and Bad Juju’s “String of Curses” perk for even more supers.

The 50 Intellect and 48 Strength split stat roll is decent for Obsidian Mind, but the needed “Inverse Shadow” perk is present in the third column. Re-roll only as needed to maximize your Intellect.
