Johnny Depp’s Blink-And-You’ll-Miss-It Cameo In ‘The Walking Dead’ — Did You Spot Him?

Johnny Depp is a very interesting person. An actor and a musician, Johnny Depp has managed to become a personality that transcends beyond any role he plays while at the same time owning whichever role he plays. From being a fresh-faced pretty boy undercover cop in the original 21 Jump Street to being the modern classic pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Johnny has managed to land memorable roles left and right throughout his glorious career.

His latest acting credit, however, was not for a big blockbuster but for The Walking Dead. He didn’t play a survivor, he didn’t even play a zombie. Well in a way, he did play a zombie — a zombie’s head! According to Vanity Fair, one of the three zombie heads lying upon the pavement was, in fact, Johnny Depp’s.

In what might be the briefest acting credit in his career, Johnny Depp fans are going to have to pay attention to detail, because they just might miss Johnny if they blink.

Johnny Depp has also formed a rock supergroup with legends Joe Perry and Alice Cooper known as Hollywood Vampires, which released their self-titled debut album just last September. The album contained covers of 11 classic rock hits and two new songs written primarily by Depp. The trio have been touring and promoting the album regularly, but due to reasons as yet unknown, the trio will not be performing on July 17 during the Ravinia summer concert series as originally planned, according to the Chicago Tribune.

In a recent appearance at the Arizona State University, Johnny Depp sat down and talked with renowned theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss, who founded the Arizona State University’s Origins Project. During the talk, the actor opened up about how thoughts arrive to him and how he characterizes his roles in movies based on his own personality, according to AZ Central.

Johnny labels himself as “abnormal” and says that he is a bit mad, which is why he can relate to the personalities he portrays on screen. He believes that the inner madness in his brain is soothed and released through acting, music, and the arts in general. Evidence of his quirky and eccentric behavior was when he stopped the conversation to light a cigarette on stage despite the university’s strict rules against smoking on campus.

One of the many inspirations for his characterization of the classic role of Willy Wonka, originally played by Gene Wilder, was a very surprising reveal. Johnny proceeded to reveal that the inspiration he found was none other than the 43rd president of the United States, George W. Bush.

Johnny Depp spoke about how using George W. Bush as an inspiration for Willy Wonka helped the role.

“I imagined an incredibly stoned George W. Bush.”

Depp’s Wonka was a mixture of the president and “children’s television hosts that scared me.”

George W. Bush is not the only president that Depp’s focused on lately, however, because he recently played a caricature parody of Donald Trump for Funny or Die, a comedy website. Depp portrayed the presidential candidate in the way he saw fit, which was the way he perceived him to be. He perceived him to be a “brat,” according to the Telegraph.

Johnny Depp spoke of his approach to Donald Trump and elaborated his reason for calling him a brat.

“It’s not just about being a rich kid or anything like that. I approached Donald Trump as what you kind of see in him when you really watch him. There’s a pretense. There’s something created about him in the sense of bullydom. But what he is, I believe, is a brat…. Also the absurdity of where his sentences might travel…. Reagan back in the day, ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!’ Donald Trump, ‘I’m going to build a wall. And all of my billions are not going to have to pay for it. Because you know why? Mexico is going to pay for it.'”

Johnny Depp is, was, and always will be one of the most colorful and interesting personalities in Hollywood. If he’s not filming a movie, he’ll be writing a song and playing with his band Hollywood Vampires. And if he’s not writing music, he’ll be making wine. Johnny Depp is just as busy and diverse onscreen and off-screen. It’s always interesting to see him in any scenario.
