‘Pawn Stars’ Chumlee Arrest Update: Clothing Confiscated, ‘Chum Chum Room’ Uncovered

Pawn Stars’ Chumlee was arrested on drugs and weapons charges a couple of weeks ago, and new details about what police found in his Las Vegas home have been released. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, police had a search warrant for Chumlee’s (real name Austin L. Russell) home earlier this month while investigating a sexual assault claim in which he is the primary suspect. The public only knows that an unidentified woman claimed that she was sexually assaulted by the 33-year-old reality star. Further details about this case are unknown, but authorities maintain that they are actively investigating.

Meanwhile, police found drugs and a number of illegal weapons inside Chumlee’s home. According to USA Today, police have detailed some of the other rather interesting things that they found at Chumlee’s place.

“Chumlee has a ‘Chum Chum Room with Dance Pole.’ In the ‘Chum Chum’ room, police found and seized a ‘clear plastic baggie with white residue’ and a ‘$1 bill rolled up with white powdery residue.’ We can only speculate what this room is for, because Detective Cody of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police did not explain when he filled out the long list of items seized from Chumlee’s abode during a search on March 9.”

Pawn Stars’ Chumlee spent one night in jail and was released on $62,000 bond the next day. He has since obtained an attorney who says that his client is determined to fight these felony charges. Chumlee has not released any kind of statement, nor has he spoken up about this arrest on social media or otherwise. The History Channel, which airs Pawn Stars, has yet to react to this arrest. It is unclear if Chumlee will still be on the show or if his fate rests with the outcome of his upcoming trial.

Based on the police report, it does seem as though Chumlee was involved in some illegal business.

“It should also be noted that the amount of narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia and narcotics-related items found throughout the residence suggests (Russell) openly allows and participates in the unlawful use and possession of narcotics. Many of these items are commonly found with persons who package and sell controlled substances, i.e., plastic baggies and digital scales,” the police report read in part.

Chumlee reportedly didn’t want police going into a vault that he had, but he didn’t have much of a choice. While he tried to tell the cops that there were “private things” inside, he was forced to open the vault. Inside, police found the drugs and several guns. Only four of the guns found were registered to Austin Rusell. Police arrested him because “he was in violation of the law prohibiting possession of a gun by a user or addict of any controlled substance.”

Fans of Pawn Stars are a bit surprised to hear that Chumlee has gotten himself into so much trouble. While the drugs and guns may not be a “shock,” the sexual assault case is something that people are curious to hear more about. According to the report, police have obtained some of Chumlee’s personal items to aid them in that case. If they find substantial evidence to charge Chumlee with sexual assault, they undoubtedly will.

“Police also seized some of Russell’s clothing and bedding from areas of the house, including laundry room, kitchen, family room, master bedroom, and so on. They also obtained a search warrant to draw a blood sample from Chumlee for testing.”

More details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
