‘Teen Mom’ Catelynn Lowell Checks In To Rehab

Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell has checked in to rehab. The fan favorite MTV reality star has revealed that she’s seeking treatment for her mental health, and not substance abuse issues.

According to MTV News, Catelynn Lowell has left her home in Michigan to seek treatment at a rehab facility due to her depression and anxiety issues. Teen Mom OG fans have seen Catelynn struggle with depression in the past, and her depression and anxiety were one of the main themes in the most recent season of the reality series.

Catelynn Lowell released a statement to MTV about her rehab stay, revealing that she has decided to take this step not only for herself, but for her beloved family, husband Tyler Baltierra and daughter Nova.

“I’m seeking help for myself and my family. Thank you to all of my supporters. My family and I would appreciate some privacy at this time.”

Catelynn Lowell shared a photo on Instagram of herself on an airplane leaving her home state of Michigan to go to Arizona, where the rehab facility is located.

“Arizona here I come… I can’t wait to be back to my normal self … this is for me and my family… Novalee and Tyler I love you both very much!!!”

Catelynn Lowell’s decision to enter rehab for her depression and anxiety issues comes just one day after her husband and Teen Mom OG co-star, Tyler Baltierra sent out a series of alarming tweets that had fans worried for Cate. Tyler asked their supporters to “please pray” for his wife and revealing that he’ll never stop fighting for the woman he loves.

Later, Catelynn Lowell jumped on her Twitter account to tweet a thank you to all the supporters who “life her up” and reveal that she’s not as strong as fans believe her to be.

As many Teen Mom OG fans know, Catelynn Lowell has plenty of reasons to want to seek treatment for her depression issues. The reality star still struggles with the choice to place her daughter Carly up for adoption as a teenager while now parenting her 1-year-old daughter, Nova. After Nova’s birth, Cate discovered that she had postpartum depression as well as struggling with anxiety, which is enough to break a person alone.

Of course, Catelynn Lowell isn’t the only Teen Mom to give rehab a try. Jenelle Evans has entered treatment for substance abuse issues in the past as well as Amber Portwood, who knew the treatment wasn’t working for her, so she decided to take a prison sentence instead to get clean and sober. Leah Messer has also done a stint in rehab, and although many believed it was for substance abuse, Leah claimed it was for mental health issues.

All of Catelynn’s fans are reaching out on social media and sending their love, prayers, and well wishes to Lowell and her family. Since Catelynn’s co-star Farrah Abraham has been seen filming a new season of Teen Mom OG, it seems safe to say that fans will see Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra back for another season as well, and it is likely that Cate’s decision to seek treatment at a rehab facility for her issues will be one of the main storylines in the upcoming season.

Catelynn and Tyler have always been very open about their lives in hopes of helping others going through the same issues as they are, and this will be yet another way that Lowell will be showing her strength as well as helping others who may be watching her journey unfold on television.
