Kendall Jenner & Gigi Hadid In Talks To Replace Tyra Banks As ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Host

It could be a fashion face-off between model friends Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid as they battle it out to take over as host of America’s Next Top Model.

Hollywood Life is alleging that both Jenner and Hadid are “next in line” to take over the big hosting job from Tyra Banks when America’s Next Top Model returns later this year as the show makes the jump from The CW to VH1 for its upcoming 23rd cycle.

The site’s insider revealed that we could see either Kendall or Gigi heading to the reality competition, as those behind the scenes of America’s Next Top Model think both Jenner and Hadid would be “great” for the franchise as it undergoes a big overhaul following its cancellation from The CW last year.

“Now that the show is on VH1, they want to give the show a new look and they think both Kendall and Gigi would be great for the show,” Hollywood Life‘s source revealed of Jenner and Hadid, revealing that whoever does replace Tyra will have to be chosen pretty soon as shooting for the upcoming season could start as early as next month.

According to Hollywood Life‘s source, “no final decisions” have yet been made regarding who will land the coveted position as host of the popular TV model search, though the site is revealing that producers of the long-running series believe that Kendall has a good amount of experience as a model and is also “young enough to attract a hipper audience.”

Both Kendall and Gigi are both so far staying mum on the rumors that they could be taking some time out from the runway to perfect their hosting skills, but should one of the model’s get the coveted job, it’s former host Tyra Banks who will more than likely be the one deciding if Jenner or Hadid take over her former role.

Though Banks is hanging up her hosting hat after 22 cycles with the show, Variety confirmed last month that Tyra will in fact continue on with the show behind the scenes and is still serving as executive producer for new episodes of the overhauled series.

Tyra previously spoke about about Jenner and her blossoming modeling career to Hollywood Life in 2014, where she admitted that she was “proud” of the model for strutting her stuff on the runway.

“When I see Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne — the industry is desperately in need of names and I think social media has allowed models to burst away from the pack and be known for being models and being able to compete now with actresses and singers that have been taking the covers of magazines and advertisements,” Banks said at the time. “I’m really proud of those girls, including Kendall Jenner.”

But while VH1 are still yet to reveal who will be the new host of America’s Next Top Model, both Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid will probably be getting some pretty serious cash if either Gigi or Kendall signs on the dotted line to host the show.

Forbes announced back in September that Kendall Jenner pulled in around $4 million last year alone, making her one of the highest paid models in the world.

“Kendall’s generation is more influenced by digital media than television, magazines or any other forms of advertising,” Chris Gay, general manager of The Society Management, told Forbes of Kendall Jenner’s brand at the time, where the site revealed that Jenner’s “clout means she is able to command contracts far more prestigious than an unknown newcomer could.”
