Britney Spears Moving To Country Music? Star Spotted At The Grand Ole Opry

Is Britney Spears about to ditch pop music and make the move into country for her upcoming ninth studio album?

Britney Spears was spotted at one of Nashville’s most prestigious venues, the Ryman Auditorium, on March 16, where Britney took to the stage during the Grand Ole Opry – but probably not for the reason you might think.

Far from saying bye bye to pop music, Britney actually paid a visit to the Grand Ole Opry, dubbed the “home of country music,” to surprise her little sister and rising country star, Jamie Lynn Spears, who was performing at the Tennessee venue.

Jamie Lynn shared a sweet video of the moment Britney shocked country music fans when she walked out on the Opry stage, where she thanked the country music powerhouse for letting her introduce her only sister, who Spears described as her “heart and soul.”

“Not only is she beautiful and extremely talented, she’s my little sister,” Britney, who was also joined by her and Jamie Lynn’s brother, Bryan, told the crowd of excited country music fans.

The younger Spears sister shared a 30-second video of the sweet moment on her Twitter page on March 16, where she told fans that Britney provided the “best surprise ever at the most special place ever.”

“So blessed. Thanks to my family, @britneyspears & thanks @opry,” Jamie Lynn tweeted.

Spears previously teased that she and Bryan were planning on surprising their little sister on her own social media pages, taking to Instagram to show off a snap of herself and her brother in their Nashville hotel room about to leave for the Grand Ole Opry.

“Before we surprised @jamielynnspears tonight!! So proud of our baby sister,” Britney captioned the family photo.

The Grand Ole Opry, whose members are some of the biggest names in country music, including Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, and Alan Jackson, also seemed excited by Britney’s visit to music city, teasing that a “surprise guest” introduced Jamie Lynn to the stage on Twitter.

While Britney is yet to reveal if her trip to the home of country music has inspired her to feature any more country sounding tracks on her upcoming new album, this actually isn’t the first time Spears has teamed up with Jamie Lynn to go a little bit country.

Britney and Jamie Lynn previously hit the studio together to record “Chillin’ With You,” a track featured on Spears’ latest album, Britney Jean.

Britney revealed what inspired the duet in an interview with MTV back in 2013, where she confessed that it was actually her idea to bring her sister into the studio so they could record a song together.

“You know, I just knew in my heart as I was doing the album, and I was like, I want my sister on this record,” Spears told MTV of the song at the time, “I knew I wanted her on the record and I was pushing for it.”

“We worked it out with her schedule to come out because she has a baby, so it’s hard for [her] to always come out and visit a lot,” Spears continued of “Chillin’ With You,” “But she came out, we did it, we cut it, and I’m really excited about it.”

Spears also teased at the time that another duet between the Spears sisters isn’t completely out of the question.

“Yeah maybe,” Britney teased when asked by the site if she’d consider recording a more country sounding duet with her sister, adding, “That would be cool.”
