‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ News: The Return Of Darth Vader

Star Wars: Rogue One will not only be all about the young heroes and villains, but it will also feature the return of the franchise’s most evil and dreaded character, Darth Vader.

Darth Vader has been one of the most lasting characters to be cemented into the Star Wars saga of films, and in one way or another, he has been in all of them. Only in the prequels, he was his younger Jedi character of Anakin Skywalker, which led him to become Darth Vader in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Nevertheless, his presence was also felt and referred to in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but it was only in passing when Kylo Ren referred to him when he was looking at his burnt helmet.

Now, the man himself is about to make his grand return to the Star Wars franchise when the prequel spinoff film Rogue One debuts later this year. According to Movie Pilot, Darth Vader will not be the only character that will be back in action on the new film series either.

Fans of the Star Wars franchise should keep in mind that this film, although it is a prequel, is actually considered a spinoff of the franchise and not just another installment into the episodic films. The events of Rogue One will be taking place just before the events of the first Star Wars film, A New Hope.

So would you want just a little more nostalgic characters and voices to return to this Star Wars spinoff? Of course you do. That is why fans can expect to see the return of the original bounty hunters that were assembled in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Yes, that means that Boba Fett is going to dust off his suit and crawl out of the Tatooine pit for just one more appearance, at least. Now fans will get more of an origin story told for the character, which was only slightly touched upon in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

But now, back to Darth Vader. The iconic Star Wars character will not only be back in action for Rogue One, but he will also be getting the returning voice talent of actor James Earl Jones.

Jones’ deep voice gave the character much of its iconic status that people to this day still try to mimic in one way or another. Although Jones has been seen in many other films, it was only his voice that did the work in the Star Wars trilogy with another actor playing the physical body of Darth Vader.

So why would Darth Vader be rounding up the bounty hunters for a little prequel mission on Rogue One? Well, the original Star Wars trilogy clearly showed that he was an evil mastermind with exceptional skills as a warrior. But he only fought with his light saber or choked with the force a few times in the series. It is expected that fans of the Star Wars franchise will get to see the earlier version of the evil character when he was a battlefield juggernaut who spared no one and killed many. That is, of course, on par with what many already knew about the character.

Even though there has not been a Han Solo cast yet for the other spinoff, the field of candidates has been narrowed to three. There will also be the origins of his friendship between himself and the Wookie Chewbacca. As a matter of fact, the Wookies will be prisoners in this film and it seems as though Han Solo may be the one who comes to Chewy’s rescue.
