David Foster Puts On Fake Front As ‘RHOBH’ Cameras Catch Him Doubting His Marriage To Yolanda

David Foster is in the middle of a divorce from his estranged wife Yolanda Hadid-Foster, but it looks like he put on a brave face until the end. After touting how great it was to have his ailing wife out and about, the Grammy-winning musical guru was caught questioning the state of his marriage while the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cameras were rolling last fall.

ET Online posted a RHOBH party scene that was taped in New York City late last year, where David Foster is heard off-camera talking to his friend Tom about his marriage. After Foster says his marriage to the Dutch model has “been a stretch,” his pal says he wants his life to “go back to the way it was when you first got together.”

David Foster questions if things can ever go back to the way they once were with his wife. But this exchange comes after Foster gushed over Yolanda while on camera, telling her, “I love you baby,” and joking that they were making lemonade out of lemons and adding that later they would be making “lots of lemonade.”

In the same episode, Yolanda admitted that her husband David Foster lost his “wing man” and his “partner in crime” when she fell ill with Lyme disease several years ago, and it took a toll on their marriage.

On her Bravo blog, the RHOBH star wrote that watching the episode with David doubting their marriage was painful for her.

“There were mixed emotions while watching tonight’s episode. A divorce, regardless of how it happens, is still the closing of the chapter, a separation from your life partner. We can’t help but feel the loss and wonder when and how things went wrong. Long-term illness brings challenging hurdles to a home, a family and a marriage. It affects many lives, but I have to believe we’ve all done the best we can. Rather then getting stuck on what went wrong, I choose to focus on what was right and cherish the many great memories we shared.”

Yo also revealed why she dropped David’s last name, explaining that she kept her first husband Mohamed’s last name for the sake of her children.

“I chose to keep my married name for my children when their father and I separated in 2000. It was important to them and we decided this as a family. When I married David, I honored his and went by both. I was Yolanda Hadid-Foster, and now I have dropped Foster for obvious reasons.”

While some critics have slammed David Foster for not being by his wife’s side “in sickness and in health,” in a statement to Us Weekly, Foster set the record straight about the demise of his marriage.

“A great deal of inaccurate or baseless information has been reported claiming to represent my thoughts and feelings…I have always had and continue to have the utmost respect and love for Yolanda, which is why it is so frustrating to see headlines questioning her chronic debilitating illness. I have been by Yolanda’s side over the past four years to the best of my ability as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis.”

While the RHOBH star seems to have made peace with the end of her marriage to David Foster, according to Radar Online, Yolanda broke down when she was asked about David during the taping for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion. Her pal Erika Girardi reportedly asked Bravo host Andy Cohen to move on from the topic when Hadid-Foster became visibly upset. A RHOBH source also said David Foster never signed up to be with a sick wife, so the couple’s relationship was strained early on.

“David never really got to be married to the healthy, carefree Yolanda, because she got the disease shortly after they were married.”

In recent weeks, David Foster has been romantically linked with actress Selma Blair, which reportedly has been “a blow” to his estranged wife.
