Christina Aguilera Lands A New Show, Drama Swirls Regarding ‘The Voice’ Star’s Soon-To-Be Husband Matt Rutler

Christina Aguilera just scored a major deal with Spike TV. According to a new report, the network has greenlit Tracks, a music-based game show from The Voice coach, which will premiere sometime later this year.

Although the show is expected to debut in a half-hour special, as Variety reported on March 15, there are plans to turn the one-time episode into a full-time series.

According to the report, Christina Aguilera’s new series is described as “a musical game show in which a team of two attempts to name a song title just by listening to its individual tracks — guitar, bass, vocal, etc.” Behind the scenes, Christina Aguilera will act as executive producer on the series with fiancé Matt Rutler, Michael Agbabian, and Dwight D. Smith, and the series will be brought to Spike TV by Mission Control Media and MX Productions in association with the well-know Lionsgate. Listed as co-exectuive producers are Neal Tabachnick and Michael Aubrey.

When the show airs, surprise celebrity guests will be performing tracks that could be their own, or sung by others, and a host has yet to be announced.

“Having finely tuned my ear for music over the years, I thought it would be fun to test other folks and see if they can identify a track — with a twist — since contestants will have to focus on a single component of a song,” Christina Aguilera said in a statement. “I’m excited to have ‘Tracks’ debuting on Spike TV, and proud to have this as the first project springing from our first-look deal with Lionsgate.”

In other news regarding Christina Aguilera and her fiancé (and soon-to-be co-worker), Matt Rutler was recently photographed in Los Angeles driving with their daughter, Summer, on his lap. According to a report by the Daily Mail on March 4, Rutler was seen behind the wheel of a black Range Rover in Brentwood, California, earlier this month with Christina Aguilera at his side and their 18-month-old on his lap.

Christina Aguilera welcomed her first child with Rutler in late 2014, and also has an older child from her first marriage to Jordan Bratman.

“I was speechless,” Christina Aguilera told People Magazine last year of her daughter’s birth. “She was literally like an angel … We had an immediate calm bond, and I felt unexplainably connected to her and her spirit. Her smile lights up a room and I know it melts mama and daddy’s hearts. She laughs a ton and is easy to make smile. She just wants to be where the action is!”

Continuing on to the magazine, Christina Aguilera admitted that being a mother of two children and working a full-time job (at least one of them) can be extremely challenging, but when it comes down to it, her children are her world.

“It’s definitely not easy juggling work and motherhood, as being a parent is a full-time job within itself,” Christina Aguilera explained. “You just have to make it work for you. My life has so many different moving parts, but my kids are the center focal piece, and everything else shifts around them. ‘Mom guilt’ is the worst thing ever, but you have to surrender and let go, knowing you’re doing your very best and no one loves them, or wants what’s best for them more than you.”
