One of the hackers behind the “fappening” pleads guilty to allegations of leaking a multitude of celebrity photos, female celebs like Brie Larson, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kate Upton among them.
“The Fappening hacker” was the occurrence towards the end of 2012 where hackers hacked their way into many celebrities Apple iCloud accounts using a phishing scheme.
The fappening, hackers, who have just pleaded guilty Tuesday, then leaked the photos in 2012 and on the internet via image boards like 4chan and various other websites.
TMZ reports Federal investigators discovered that a man named, Ryan Collins, was the name of the hacker behind the fappening leak.
The fappening hacker, Collins, has pleaded guilty to charges of gaining unauthorized access to a protected computer. According to investigators, the hacker is primarily in hot water for leaking at more than 100 victims on the web.
OK compiled a “master list” consisted of some other famous “fappening hacked” which included,
- Kim Kardashian
- Scarlett Johansson
- Meghan Good
- Mary E. Winstead
- Lea Michele
- Ariana Grande
- Kirsten Dunst
- Vanessa Hudgens
- Gabrielle Union
- Krysten Ritter
- Victoria Justice

- Teresa Palmer
- Hope Solo
- Avril Lavigne

- Hayden Panettiere
and the list goes on.
Perhaps one of the fappening hackers pleading guilty will serve as partial justice for Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer was particularly upset about being hacked.
The 25-year-old fappening victim told Vanity Fair during a photo shoot,
I was just so afraid. I didn’t know how this would affect my career. every single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry. I started to write an apology, but I don’t have anything to say I’m sorry for. I was in a loving, healthy, great relationship for four years. It was long distance, and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or he’s going to look at you
Lawrence was then asked to give sentiments as to what the legal reprecussions should be for “The Fappening hackers.”
She simply inputted that the entire situation should be regarded as a sex crime.
it is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.
Gawker has learned that “the fappenning” hacker who pleaded guilty, Ryan Collins, is a native of Pennsylvania.
His precise phishing strategy for acquiring the nudes and to kick start the fappenning was by disguising his emails as official security dispatches from Apple and Google.
The only bit of information that the pro hacker needed for the fappenning was an email address and password for their accounts.
This method tricked many victims of the fappenning and celebs are paying the heaviest.
The fappenning hacker, Collins came to plea deal which could result with him facing up to 5 years in prison. Prosecutors say they will recommend he only get 18 months since he agreed to plea guilty.
And Gawker reported that feds are claiming his is more likely to receive the latter since he did comply with the court.
“parties have agreed to recommend a prison term of 18 months,” they claimed.
But on the contrary, the ultimate decision is still in the judge’s hands.
“that recommendation will not be binding on the sentencing judge.”
Investigators have also saying that contrary to various other reports, Collins did not leak the photos to 4chan and Reddit as they are trying to figure out if the latest fappenning hacker from Pennsylvania has had any ties with two Chicago men who had their homes were raided by the FBI in 2014.
