Adriana Coronado Missing: FBI Joins Search For Texas Teen That Disappeared After Father Was Killed

Believing 14-year-old Adriana Coronado may be in imminent danger, the FBI has joined the search for the girl who went missing over the weekend. The Katy, Texas, teen was last seen around 1 a.m. Saturday and an Amber Alert was issued on Monday, which stated an unknown person may have abducted her.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Walker County Sheriff’s Department found Adriana’s father, Caesar Vladimir Coronado, dead on a rural property near I-45 in Madisonville early Monday morning. His body had been burned and discarded near a ditch. His pickup truck, which was also burnt, was found about 45 miles south of the where his body was discovered.

“At this point and time, the body is undergoing an autopsy,” said Sheriff Clint McRae. “We have reason to believe gunshots were involved, but we’re waiting for autopsy results.”

While investigating the homicide, police obtained information that led them to believe Adriana may be in “grave or immediate danger.” Authorities speculate that she was kidnapped and with her father when he was killed, but officials have not provided details about what specifically led them to believe the teen is in danger.

“The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in this matter and feel that time may very well be of the essence,” said a statement issued Monday morning by the agency.

A freshman at Mayde Creek High School, Adriana was supposed to meet friends at her home on Saturday afternoon, but they became concerned when they arrived and no one answered the door.

“We are like something’s wrong because she’s always on her phone,” Eduardo Revuelta, a friend, said. “Why wouldn’t you answer us?”

Neighbors described Adriana as friendly and chatty, but her parents were a little more reserved.

“When they first moved in I wanted to exchange numbers with the mom, but the mom told me, no, but maybe later on, but not right now,” neighbor Bernadina Smith said. “I really hope they find her.”

Adriana’s mother, who is currently in Mexico, does not know of any enemies her husband may have had. She is out of the country recovering from surgery and unable to travel.

Authorities have not released the identity of Adriana’s mother, but she pleaded for the safe return of her daughter through a telephone interview with reporters.

“Please return my daughter back cause I’m dying with hurt. Oh my God. This is my only daughter please return her to me. Without my daughter, I don’t want to live anymore.”

According to local Houston station KPRC, the mother spoke with Adriana and Caesar Friday night. She indicated that they seemed happy and that nothing was unusual about the conversation.

Adriana is five feet tall, weighs 105 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She is Hispanic and typically wears black-framed glasses. According to the original Amber Alert, she is 13-years-old, but McRae has since confirmed she is 14.

An FBI team that specializes in child abductions has been dispatched to Walker County to provide assistance to the Sheriff’s Department with the investigation. The Houston Police Department has also committed additional resources to help find the teen.

While the search for missing teen Adriana Coronado continues, authorities believe she is in the Houston area. However, police are considering the possibility she may have been taken out of the country by her abductor.

At this time, investigators have not determined why the father and daughter were in Walker County and when exactly Mr. Coronado was killed. Authorities have not disclosed any details regarding any possible suspects in the case.

If anyone has any information regarding the teen’s disappearance, they are urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 936-435-2400.
