Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani have been reportedly butting heads for years, and now, they are starring for the first time on the same season of The Voice.
Weeks ago, it was revealed that Stefani would return to the show as a mentor, which she did during the March 14 episode, via Daily Mail. Now, many are wondering if Christina Aguilera will call it quits after years with the NBC series.

Christina Aguilera began appearing on The Voice years ago and remained with the series until Season 4, when she was replaced temporarily by Shakira. Then, after returning for the fifth and sixth seasons of The Voice, Christina Aguilera left the show once again ahead of Season 7 due to her second pregnancy. At that point, Stefani was brought aboard the show, and ever since, she and Christina Aguilera have been alternating seasons as coach.
While Christina Aguilera reclaimed her role as coach for The Voice Season 10, Stefani remained on the show as a mentor for the team of her boyfriend, Blake Shelton. During Season 9, Stefani and Shelton sparked a romance, and in the weeks after, it was rumored that she may replace Christina Aguilera permanently, but that didn’t happen. Still, things between the two women are said to be strained, and there have been many reports regarding Christina Aguilera’s possible exit from the show.
On March 7, OK! Magazine shared a report that claimed Christina Aguilera was threatening to quit The Voice due to her co-stars’ romance. According to a source, Christina Aguilera feels Stefani is dating Shelton in an effort to remain on the show, and she’s sick of their relationship taking center stage during filming.
Immediately after Stefani was announced as a mentor for The Voice Season 10, a report claimed Christina Aguilera had become difficult for producers to work with.
“The filming of the new TV spot promo with [Christina Aguilera] was absolutely horrendous,” a source told OK! Magazine. “[She] showed up late and acted like she owned the shoot. The entire thing had to be about her or else she would have flipped out. She insisted on wearing her own wardrobe and using her own hair and make-up team, [and] she just would not take any direction for the shoot and wanted it to center around her. And so it did.”
The source went on to reveal that the staff of the show was regretting bringing Christina Aguilera back to the series, claiming working with her and working with Stefani is like night and day.

There was also one report that alleged the two women could eventually star together as coaches on the show.
“If [Christina Aguilera] loses this season, they definitely would want to pit her against Gwen in a future season to have a better chance of finally getting a girl winner,” a source told Hollywood Life, via Particle News, last month. “It would be very shocking if Christina doesn’t win this season. They are going to stack the cards in her favor. Get her that first win and try to eliminate the girl curse.”
Christina Aguilera has yet to win a season of the show, and neither have any of the other female coaches, including Stefani and Shakira.
