Mama June: Were Human Remains Found On ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Star’s Property?

Human remains may have been found on the property of Mama June Shannon, mother of “Honey Boo Boo” and co-star of the reality TV show bearing her daughter’s name. WMC Action News 5 reports that multiple media outlets have reported that a human skill has possibly been found on Mama June’s property in Griffin, Georgia, which is located in Spalding County, roughly 40 miles south of Atlanta.

Details are few at this time, but investigators are saying that “the skull [found on the property of Mama June] may be from a human.”

The possible human remains were found on the property on Saturday when contractors were renovating. According to reports, the potential human skull was found in a well on Mama June’s “investment property,” and June Shannon was not at the location when the potential humans skull was discovered.

New York Daily News reports that the renovators contacted police when they spotted what they thought looked like a human skull at the bottom of a well on Mama June’s property. The contractors apparently found the potential human skull when they were searching the well with a video phone attached to a rope and lowered down the old, abandonded water well.

However, there have been some conflicting reports regarding whether or not the item in question could, in fact, be human remains. According to the New York Daily News report, Griffin cops believe the “human remains” might be nothing more than a rock. This determination came after authorities reportedly examined the video with their own, markedly better, video equipment over the weekend.

However, The Daily Mail reports that while local police don’t believe human remains were found on the Mama June property, that the human skull was actually nothing more than a rock, they are not 100 percent certain. Cadaver dogs have reportedly been sent to the scene of the discovery on Monday, and the case is still open and the investigation into the mystery object ongoing.

There has been no official statement from either the Griffin police or Mama June, reports The Daily Mail. According to the media outlet, they contacted the Griffin police for comments, and haven’t received a reply. Nor has Mama June provided a statement on the matter to the media.

Mama June has been in the media fairly consistently in the last couple of years, despite the fact that her controversial TLC reality TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, was cancelled in 2014. The show was cancelled following allegations that that Mama June was in a romantic relationship with a convicted sex offender, Mark McDaniel. The TLC Here Comes Honey Boo Boo cancellation came just prior to the highly publicized cancellation of the highly popular TLC series 19 Kids and Counting.

19 Kids and Counting, starring the controversial and highly-religious Duggar family, was cancelled as a result of the behavior of one of its young stars. ABC News reported back in May of 2015 that Josh Duggar, the youngest of the Duggar children, had admitted to sexually abusing several of his sisters and a neighbor girl years earlier, when he was 15-years-old. The loss of the highly popular show, combined with the loss of Mama June’s Honey Boo Boo, resulted in massive advertising losses for the network.

The world is watching and waiting for news about the possible human remains on Mama June’s property, but it could be days or longer before law enforcement releases a conclusive answer to the question. Regardless of what law enforcement discovers, Mama June will likely be off the hook, due to the fact that she’d just recently bought the property in question as an investment. Multiple news outlets have confirmed that Mama June was not on or near the property in Georgia when the potential human remains were found.
