WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar Taking On Bray Wyatt At Summerslam

WWE rumors have been swirling around Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt. The two of them were scheduled to face one another at the Roadblock pay per view that took place over the weekend. Since the battle never happened, the belief is that World Wrestling Entertainment held them off for a reason. According to Wrestling Inc, the belief is that management is holding off on doing the match between them, and that they want Lesnar and Wyatt to face one another at Summerslam.

When WWE started putting together a big match between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt for Roadblock, it became one of the biggest draws of the pay per view. Some felt that it was a much stronger match than the world heavyweight championship fight between Triple H and Dean Ambrose. Unfortunately for fans that were looking forward to that, World Wrestling Entertainment changed their minds, so Lesnar ended up battling Luke Harper during the show.

The last minute change upset the internet wrestling community. They feel that World Wrestling Entertainment falsely advertised a match simply to get people to log on to the WWE Network and inflate their numbers. Management likes seeing big numbers from their online video subscription service because they can increase trust from the shareholders with it. Technically, WWE can state that the match actually happened because it was a handicap match where Bray Wyatt simply did not tag in.

It makes a lot of sense for WWE to hold off on doing a match between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt. That’s a marquee match up that could easily headline a pay per view. World Wrestling Entertainment didn’t put a lot of stock into the Roadblock pay per view because it’s not considered one of the big ones. A match featuring Lesnar and Wyatt deserves to be one of the big four pay per view events.

Wrestlemania is the biggest wrestling pay per view of the year. The only things that come remotely close are AAA’s Triplemania and the big January 4th Dome show by New Japan Pro Wrestling. They’re nowhere near the WWE event, of course. Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble are two other top World Wrestling Entertainment shows. Summerslam is considered to be the second biggest pay per view of the year, with WWE even trying to sell that it is the summer version of Wrestlemania.

With so many of the top stars either injured or out of the company, WWE doesn’t have a ton of marquee matches to throw at the fans. Summerslam always needs a big match to sell fans on buying the pay per view. A match between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt can definitely convince fans to spend money on World Wrestling Entertainment. No one has seen it before, so it can be labelled as a dream match.

A problem that exists for WWE is that they will need to be creative when coming up with the ending for the match between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt. Neither guy can afford the loss because it will hurt their momentum. Lesnar is a big draw for World Wrestling Entertainment because he’s so dominant. A clean loss isn’t an option. Wyatt has taken clean losses before, and it hurts him every time, so management needs to avoid that route as well.

The internet wrestling community might be upset right now because they missed out on a dream match between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt. However, if management takes its time and puts the proper focus on building up the match, then many will forgive WWE by the time that Summerslam rolls around in the fall.
