Fifth Harmony Covered Like Never Before — See The Hilarious Video

Usually, Fifth Harmony covers on YouTube are by inspired artists looking for an outlet to be heard. While most covers are flattering, some can have a down-right slimy feel to them.

Just ask the all-female band after being recognized as the Best Musical Group at the 2016 Kids Choice Awards Saturday, Seventeen reported.

As Ally Brooke Hernandez was finishing her acceptance speech, Fifth Harmony was sprayed with the iconic green slime shooting up from openings on the stage. Predictably, most of the girls began to scream and run for cover. Ally did not, standing steadfast at the microphone with her head bent down, enjoying the ultimate honor from the Nickelodeon awards show.

Such has been the year for Fifth Harmony, one of the hottest acts in the music industry. The band continues to be awarded at awards ceremony after awards ceremony for their vocal talent.

In addition to the Kids Choice Awards, Fifth Harmony was recognized at the People’s Choice Awards in January with the Favorite Group award. In December, Fifth Harmony was named the Group of the Year by Billboard at their Women In Music ceremony.

This is the second year in a row that Fifth Harmony has taken home a blimp from the Kids Choice Awards. In 2015, the band received the Best New Artist award, but the band avoided the green ooze.

Fifth Harmony wasn’t the only well-known musical guest or celebrity who enjoyed being doused in green ooze that night. John Stamos — who’s returned to his role as Uncle Jesse on Fuller House this year — was the first honoree to have slime dumped on his head. Stamos was a good sport about the gesture, sharing his green substance with Jace Norman, Us Weekly reported.

Country music singer and The Voice judge Blake Shelton hosted the annual event, his first time serving in this capacity. Even the host was not immune to receiving a dose of the green goo as Shelton was covered mercilessly by the show’s signature compound.

Blake’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani, who’s opened up about her life in a recent interview, was unable to attend the event as she was in Japan. But that didn’t keep the “Used To Love You” singer from posting a clip of her boyfriend being slimed.

Fifth Harmony arrived at the awards in different outfits than they wore while on stage, so the band did not have to wear the green goo for long. As Hollywood Life reported, Fifth Harmony looked stunning in their dresses as each member’s looks complemented the others’ attire while still representing the unique individualism the band members bring to the group.

In addition to receiving the award on Saturday, the band is finishing up the follow-up to their debut album Reflections with the soon-to-be-released 7/27 album. Already, the band has released a song off the new album, a single called “Work From Home” featuring Ty Dolla Sign. The entire compilation is slated to drop in May.

Rumors swirled around Fifth Harmony that their sophomore work may be the last, following in the footsteps of all-boy One Direction. The rumors intensified around the time their Reflections Tour ended despite the band committing to staying together right now.

Continuing to perform as a group hasn’t prevented the girls from working on individual projects, too. Camila Cabello was the first member of Fifth Harmony to complete an outside project, earning praise with her duet with Shawn Mendes on “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” The singers reported that writing the song took less than 30 minutes, the Inquisitr reported.

Their commitment to each other also hasn’t kept the girls from spilling secrets on other members of the Fifth Harmony group. Ally was responsible for that, telling jaw-dropping facts about the females in a recent interview.
