According to Us Weekly, Ciara’s rep confirmed the engagement and shared details regarding the romantic proposal.
“Following Paris Fashion Week, Russell surprised Ciara with a surprise holiday,” Ciara’s rep revealed. “She was shocked when they landed in the Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island. The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancé at the romantic, private Honeymoon Beach, located on North Island.”
Russell Wilson also confirmed the news with an adorable Instagram video that showed the pair sitting on the beach with Ciara flashing her giant diamond.
“She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling… #TrueLove @Ciara,” Wilson captioned the video, which Ciara also shared on her Twitter account, along with several other tweets about her new fiance.
“He got that ALL factor…. He got it ALLL…,” she tweeted, before adding, “God Is Good! Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Heaven Sent. I’m Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You. I Feel Complete.”

Ciara, who has a young son with her ex, Future, and Russell Wilson first stepped out together as a couple in 2015 at the Obama’s Japanese state dinner. Since then, they have been very open about their sex-free relationship. While speaking to People Magazine at the Veuve Clicquot Carnaval in Miami on Saturday, February 20, the 30-year-old singer opened up about their celibacy, and how the couple came to the decision to abstain from sex until they decided to get married.
“No, it’s not hard at all,” Ciara said of not having sex. “He’s an awesome guy and a very confident guy. Just like I feel like I’m a woman that knows what I want, he’s a man who knows what he wants.”
“It’s going pretty good,” Ciara told Cosmopolitan in another interview.”We’re hanging in there. I’m not gonna lie. I’m human, so it is not easy, especially when I look at him and I think he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen — that I’ve ever laid my eyes on, to be honest. I’m like, ‘Look the other way! Look the other way!'”
“But he’s such an awesome guy and the cool thing is that every day, we’re growing with each other. We get to have really healthy conversations and focus on each other as people. That is very important to me and him. It’s very valuable. We’re just enjoying ourselves and going one day at a time and praying and staying positive. Being strong here!”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Russell Wilson spoke about his decision to remain abstinent with Ciara back in July of 2015 during an appearance at The Rock Church. He talked about when he first met the girl of his dreams, and why he wanted to refrain from having sex until they decided to get married, which appears will be in the near future.
“She was on tour and I was looking at her in the mirror, and she was sitting there. And God spoke to me and said ‘I need you to lead her.’ And I was like, ‘Really? Right now?’ And he goes, ‘No, I want you and need you to lead her.’ And I asked her, ‘What would you do if we took all that extra stuff off the table? And just did it Jesus’ way?’ “
